i seem to be lacking the time to rack up mileage on my new stryker. only made 423 miles in 2 months because it was too hot. since i ride in DC rush hour traffic a lot, can i base a break in oil change on engine hours, instead of mileage?? i only work 14 miles each way from work, but bike is actually running for about an hour each way. other words, running time vs. mileage.

I would say yes , its also inportant to put your motor thur different stress levels for break in , there is a special additave in the factory oil for braek in period.
I have had mine since may and only have 450 miles.

You are good to go. Heat cycles are important, too, and it sounds like you have been through plenty.

Yahh i would just change out the oil for the meantime to get those lil shavings out..... Hey does anyone know if they sell/make or where i can get a magnetic drain plug bolt for the Stryker?

I just changed my oil yesterday and its just a normal drain plug, no magnet. On a side note, It runs alot smoother after the first oil change!
