Found a 5x30 and made it work... that thing sucks air like a Hoover.... kind of loud..

I installed the pipes, powerflo and autotuner..... bike is INSANE..... I still have 3 items to tackle tomorrow and then ill post my build thread pics and sound ;)

One question for today though.... those chromeglow front leds.... are either running lights or signal lights, is there a mod to mark it both...

Yes, buy the drug circuit and they will be both.

Ok, anything is installed and ready to go..... but I have one major problem....

After putting on the Avon grips, I had to move both controls in...

Now the throttle won't reset itself... it sticks. I'm assuming it needs proper adjustment, to take up slack?

I tried to use the adjuster on the throttle, doesn't help.

Also, is the powerflo suppose to be loud/whiny/sucking.

I'd make sure that the cables are attached and in the slot(s) on the throttle grip correctly. The mechanism that makes the throttle return to its original position is the spring loaded control on the opposite end of the cable. Having the tension misadjusted would affect how much the throttle moved when released, but shouldn't make it stick.

Edit: In fact, after looking at the mechanism, it doesn't look like a misadjusted cable should affect the return action, just the opening of the throttle.

There is a line up pin on the handle bar for both left and right controls. If you moved your controls in- then the throttle tube is hitting that pin!

^^that makes more sense.

@Kakarot, the cables really only fit correctly one way. Out of curiosity (I installed the ISO grips instead of the Avon grips), why did you have to move the controls in?

Page 4-64 of the service manual gives as good an illustration as any as to the routing.

It said to push grips to the end of handle bar?

So just back it out and have it not solid on the end?

Now I have the both screws out entirely.... and in pieces.... I can move it in and out.... stiff as a ...bigger still

Made a video

Personally, I wouldn't want to move the controls any more towards the center of the bar than they are. The ISO grips came with a spacer to take care of any difference on the left bar. The throttle grip works just fine with the standard mounting position. The lower cable goes under the bar and connects to the throttle grip. The upper cable goes above the bar and connects to the grip. The switch housing holds the grip from moving towards the right/off the bar.

I did adjust the slack at the bottom and it works now.... But maybe I will back the grips off a bit next time.... The bike is currently more then I bargained for, loud, proud and amazing.... I will be posting pics late tomorrow :)

My only question now is, does the powerful have a loud sucking/whining sound by default? Or do I have a leak? Performance is insane and I have no engine lights! Thx and goodnight

Ps: the V&H 2:2 is too close to my leg....it touches, unless I try to avoid it, I can feel the heat through my jeans/boots... Shorts are now a no go. Any suggestions?

If you're talking about the Cobra Powerflo making a loud sucking sound, there's been several mentions in threads of the change in sound. I still have the stock air box so I don't know for sure.

IMO, shorts on motorcycles has been a bad idea for as long as there have been shorts and motorcycles - for both riders and passengers.
