I've been thinking about this for a while. I figured it's time to get it done before it gets warm.

Glass-pack. Shiny stainless "ricer" tip. Random bits of steel stock and 3.5" exhaust tube. I have yet to make a support bracket. That's for tomorrow ;)

I plan on painting it flat black and leaving a 1" or 1.5" bit of stainless at the end

I did the same exact thing with a MagnaFlow Glass pack a few months ago. The entire set up cost me 56 bucks and it looks and sounds awesome!!
If you go to the "power commander maps" section of this forum, you can see pics of the finished product and if you go to you tube, you can hear it.

Wow. Thanks for all the great comments 8)

The Stryker is the only new vehicle I own. When I bought it I had to go out and buy all the buckets and car wash stuff because nothing of mine looks good enough to wash haha. I built a complete single turbo setup for my 84 Chevy Impala. I figured after all that I could make a pipe look good with more effort.

Making the transition from the 3.5" outer shell to the stainless steel exhaust tip was the hardest part. Just so happened I got a chance to use the TIG welder at my friends machine shop. The pro welder guy gave me some advice and had me use a 309 filler rod to get good fusion between the carbon steel and stainless. Something my old raggedy MIG welder would have destroyed.

If I had to do it over I would use the same parts except trade the stainless tip for a 3.5" mandrel "turn down" pointed out to the side. Then black-out the whole thing. Maybe one day I'll try it just for fun...

looks good! I made a bunch of them last summer for some peeps on the forum, then just got busy with work. I made mine with some adjustable internal Baffles because with Just the glasspack, Its quite loud if your an in town driver. I actually built a jig too. Its Sooo hard to make a perfect piece to make everybody super happy when your just doing them one at a time... the transition is tough. I kinda lost interest, as they take too much work for the minimal amount of money people are willing to pay. ;)

I also dislike how long the cobra one is..
