I don't understand why a sissy bar or windshield should cost 250 bucks or more. 100 bucks for foot pegs. I just don't get it.
Price is often dictated by the market. Manufacturers set prices based on comparable items in the market. If they sell great, they'll raise the price. If they sell poorly, they'll lower the price.

So tell everyone not to buy those awesome pipes for about a year then everyone can get them $100 cheaper!

Everyone...don't buy those awesome pipes for at least one year so we can get them cheaper. There I did it. Let's seeif it works. ;D

On a more serious note I would think they could improve their profit margins buy lowering the price which would in turn increase volume. ::)

I believe that alot of the prices will come down after the newness wears off. Most new parts are full pop retail untill they realize people arn't going to snatch them all up, and their trying to cover the original hit of manafacturing them. Also as more add-ons come out to compete they will drop in price, but by then something new and better will be out and you'll want that full pop again ;)

Mods cost so much, because that's where the money is. If you want a mod on your bike, then you have no other option then buy it or make it yourself. Actually the more they manufacture the cheaper the price. Its when there is not a big production line that it costs a lot. You can see this when they produce limited addition cars. As for bikes, even though there seems to be a lot out there, in the realm of production of products there really are not, so that is why the high price. Just look at products that come from China. Besides the low labor, when they produce something its in the 3 digit million. This is why they are so cheap. If its going to cost you "X" amount for 100 thousand units, then why not produce a million and sell for less, but make more money. That is the reason for "Dollar Stores"

One word...CHROME!!!

The chroming process creates a lot of pollution so guess who gets involved, the EPA. A lot of places used to do their own chroming, but now they can't afford the systems to meet governments regulations, now there are less chromers. Less chromers with equal demand means more expensive prices. Simple rules of supply and demand.
