I'm going nuts! I've been waiting patiently for the release of the ScalaRider G9, all I keep getting is a release date of sometime in April. I noticed that last week Cardo finally put the information on their site for the G9 but no purchase information. I wish they would throw me a bone as to a actual release date and price. I have seen alot of places advertising it but no real price. I would love to have someone do a group buy on this, I plan on purchasing 3 powersets for my family. Hey, I joined this forum because I saw your thread. I've been looking into buying the G9 for myself and my friend. I can't figure out this release date crap though. I've seen anything from March to June and I can't find anything from Cardo saying anything about a date at all. which I personally find strange. If you know anything more than I do, please share. All dates are speculation at this point. I emailed Cardo twice the first answer I got was mid April now I get we don't have a release date at this time. Im going to call them at some point this week to speak to a actual person and get a solid answer hopefully. I have talked some folks at a couple online stores and they basically tell me the prices they are giving are guesstimates and a way to lure you into buying. If you can't pr-order through Cardo then I would wait.

Awesome, It seems to me like you have this under control. I'll check back later in the week and see if you found anything new out. I just ran across a site too that had April 12th as a release date, that would be cool, but I haven't had two sites say the same date. Like you said, I'm agreeing with speculations.

Update: I just got off the phone with Cardo and they started filling orders from distributors on Monday. The best deal I have found so far is through J&P if you are a Gold Club Member. The membership is $50 and the item is $449 with membership and $499 without. The only way of course this would make sense is to purchase more then one powerset to see any savings. I'm going to keep digging, maybe I can get a group buy somewhere.

Man, those prices are rediculously insane. Over $400 for that G9. They have got to be kidding. I think $200 was too much for the G4 I bought. No way I would pay $400 for one even though it lets you connect with more riders. For me, I will stick with the G4. They can keep that expensive piece of luggage.

That $450-$500 price is for a pair guys not just one unit. Still pricey though!

What is better about the G9 compared to previous version?

I'd assume the G4 will likely be found discounted.

only thing I've noticed is that you can talk to more riders. I'm waiting for its release not to get it but to hopefully get the g4 cheaper ;D

I think the G9 has the new feature where you can say your buddies name and then speak only to him instead everyone, then say something else to go back to the group conversation. Which is cool, but not $500 cool.

For those who are wondering, the speakers that come with these things suck! I do wear earplugs though. I upgraded to some actual headphone speakers (KOSS Porta-Pro) and they are deffintely louder but still not loud enough. The biggest problem is that in order for the speakers to work optimally, they must be directly on top of your ear. This is not always possible and when it is, its usually uncomfortable after a while. I'm going to try some noise isolating in-ear headphones next. Hopefully this will help.

I previously had the blinc headset the problem I had with it was that the commands from the phone was way to quiet. But the speakers was AWESOME. I used it to listen to pandora from my phone and the quality was terrific. talking to someone on the phone was good quality not the best. never used it for talking to other riders. The battery finally went out on it so thats why i'm looking for something new.

What is better about the G9 compared to previous version?

So not sure if you would consider it better but here is a list of the differences between the G4 and the G9:

Group Signal & Hot Dial - allowing you to alert fellow riders of any danger or obstacle on the road
Flash Pairing™ in 1 Second - Leaves devices paired to the set so you don't have to pair it everytime devices are used (quicker pairing), also tap/bump your set to someone elses and will pair together.
Intercom Toggling Between 9 Riders - 4 riders on the G4
