Anyone have any thoughts on changing out exhaust systems before you hit 600 miles? I'm thinking it probably isn't an issue, wanted to see what you guys think.

Thanks jmules and strykenshane for asking and answering this question. Thought about this at work today because I just purchased a new 2013 Stryker in Pearl White on Monday; have been wondering whether or not to change the exhaust and fuel programmer before 200 miles adjustment or to wait until 600 miles. Ride safe everyone!

I have read that if you change one or the other, (intake or exhaust) you don't need a tuner/programmer. I have changed my pipes and don't have a tuner. All is fine. Same goes for modified stock pipes.

The tuner is to adjust the fuel mixture - lean or rich - more or less oxygen. A hi flow exhaust and intake will need to have the air/fuel mixture adjusted. That is my laymens understanding of it. Hopefully someone can add to it. I am no mechanic.

You're correct.. Yamayates... Bigger Air kit means more oxygen to the engine and bigger pipes means better flow.. your bikes factory programming is set for much smaller Fuel/Air mix.. so a tuner is needed to get the desired results you're looking for.
