Anyone have any thoughts on changing out exhaust systems before you hit 600 miles? I'm thinking it probably isn't an issue, wanted to see what you guys think.

nope, no problem at all, in fact some dealers have changed the exhaust with -0- miles on the bike

Changed mine at 200 miles and I run it hard everyday. So far so good!

Thought about this at work today because I just purchased a new 2013 Stryker in Pearl White on Monday; have been wondering whether or not to change the exhaust and fuel programmer before 200 miles adjustment or to wait until 600 miles. Ride safe everyone!

If the original pipes are on the bike, they they have holes drilled in them for a louder sound?? If so, does it need to be jetted??

what is the fuel programmer and why do you need that for the pipes?

I have read that if you change one or the other, (intake or exhaust) you don't need a tuner/programmer. I have changed my pipes and don't have a tuner. All is fine. Same goes for modified stock pipes.

The tuner is to adjust the fuel mixture - lean or rich - more or less oxygen. A hi flow exhaust and intake will need to have the air/fuel mixture adjusted. That is my laymens understanding of it. Hopefully someone can add to it. I am no mechanic.

You're correct.. Yamayates... Bigger Air kit means more oxygen to the engine and bigger pipes means better flow.. your bikes factory programming is set for much smaller Fuel/Air mix.. so a tuner is needed to get the desired results you're looking for.

I changed mine with 124 have 11500 now and zero issues.

I changed mine out before I ever took it off of the lot. had 0 miles on it

I put my Cobra slip-on the first hour I had mine. Break in is for the rings and internal moving parts so pipes have to effect.
