Just wondering if any of you guys have thought about changing out the gas tank on your Stryker. I love the bike but I am not crazy bout the wide tank. I was thinking maybe getting a stretched tank just to make the bike look a little longer and meaner. Any suggestions on where to start?

**** i never thought of changing out my tank? i actually just ordered a replacment and im getting an oem one cuz of a ding i got on it from being vandalized :-[.....

the problem with changing the tank will be the fact that we got a digital fuel gauge so that probably means that the fuel sensors will probably have to be changed as well... you also have to make sure that the fuel pump will work with the new tank... and then i say go ahead and just fabricate your own design like nobody else has got. just get a welder and a grinder.. lol... then that would have its own look and appeal...

Thanks for the info Goodwell! I would never have thought bout all the sensors, pump etc. Thats why I asked you smart folks on here! Maybe I'll just keep mine stock.

the only reason that i have thought of that is because i was thinking about a teardrop tank myself... then i started thinking about all the work that would have to go into it.. lol... figured i would just wait until L&M came out with one.. (HINT HINT to Low and Mean)... lol

Just looking at the diagram for the tank and realized our fuel pump is in a sub tank under our seat. Only thing in our take is a sending unit and petcock and some vent tubes.

Lol this thread was from 2011. What would be sweet though would be a Raider tank so that the speedo is on the tank and not the stupid bars

Too each his own I guess. I ride mostly with a full face helmet and rode the Raider back to back with the Stryker. I could not see the Raider speedo without tilting my head but the Stryker 's I could see with a quick glance. Another check box for the Stryker when I made my decision. I digress as this is a gas tank thread. I wouldn't mind having a bigger tank though. When I use this as a commuter I am filling up every other day.
