I went and finally made my "cheap" bike lift. Works great.

2. 2X8X24 precut boards and screwed and glued together.
should be a 4X8X36 board
1. 1 1/4 pipe flange( because I already had a 1 1/4 pipe )
should be 1"
1. 1 1/4 pipe 30" long. (had that also)
should be 1"
Total cost $ 10.00
And my little 2X4 block for the kickstand to get the bike closer to level, before lifting.

I have the original instructions but cant upload them in PDF file. If you want the original instructions, e mail me.

I made basically the same lift with a 2 x 8, and although it holds the bike level, it doesn't lift either tire off the ground. I plan on redoing it with either a 2 x 10 or 2 x 12 this weekend so that I can change the tires.

You could always scan the instructions as a jpeg and upload them, though it is a fairly straight forward process.

Maybe add a 2X4 to the bottom or top.

This works good for oil changes made mine last year even though i have a bike jack. It just saves time. I also stapled some spare carpet to it to prevent scratching the frame.
