Although we spends hundreds of dollars on modding and accessorizing, I find myself to be the proudest of the cheaper mods. What would y'all say is the cheaper of the mods.

I'd say changing out the tank trim to the chrome ring.

Then painting the chrome pieces black ... cost a can of primer and a can of paint. Like 20$ ...

-Gutting the stock air box
Painting the plastics ($13)
GoCruise throttle control ($20)
Cheap set of mirrors ($35)

But my personal favorite mod is my homemade exhaust ($120)

Polishing the wheel spokes was my biggest bang for the buck.

If you have a dremel already its just the cost of dremel buffing wheels, sand paper, buffing compound and aluminimum polish. $30-$35

Big part is labor which is about 10 hours.

Just a thought Toby... You might want to leave the radiator louvers on your bike. Unless you get a full wrap front fender or a radiator screen, they are really your only defence against a rock in your radiator. (Especially with the roads you ride on ;))

Oh I know. I wasn't referring to the radiator cover louvers. I was talking about that little piece of plastic that mounts on the bottom of the triple tree that I believe it's only function is to direct air towards the radiator.

Correction, the little air director is metal.

My cheap mods.

3. home made a foam/oiled free flow air filter around $ 3.0
4. Put an 800K ohm resister inline on the O2 sensor for tuning the increased airflow. $.15
5. Made my own hard bag hangers from stock lying around the house.
6. Used my 8 year old BMW cruiser touring bags, and an old top case I had on my FJR1300, $?
7. Transferred my touring mirrors from my Beemer, needed the adapters.
8. Angled the windshield forward 1” with brackets that came from who knows where $.0
9. $.05 cruise control (o-ring and electrical tape)
10. Removable rain guard using black Duct tape on the highway bar.(when I am home or on the road I can cut it off and clean off the glue, If the weather gets hot or clears up.) $4.00 a roll.

I'm lovin the .05 cent cruise control. Works like a frickin champ and didn't cost me a penny as we have lots of O rings here at work...

Cuttin off some of the plactic under the tag was good for the look and cost nada...

Cobra slip on was $215.00 to the door, instaled it myself. For me thats the best 200 bucks I've spent on the bike. The sound is so much better now...

My other bike is a bobber with no front fender. It throws a pretty good pinwheel of water when the roads are damp. I ride with it mostly off, but it goes back on in less time than a backrest if need be. For a daily driver like my Stryker I am going to leave it on. But if I was only riding the bike as a bar hopper in perfect weather, no fender is pretty cool.

Since I use my car to go to work on bad weather days, I think my fender is coming off for a while. I had my front fender off of my last bike and love the look. I will post picks if I get to it this weekend.
