I would not recommend using the 4 Posi-Taps for Quick Secure Installation. Make permanent connections. JMO
Totally agree. I'm very old school on this. Whenever possible I splice in-line(verses a pigtail), solder and heat shrink. Some areas of the bike are hard to do this way because they are cramped but if you know how to solder the splice is as good as the original wire was and once heat shrunk is virtually waterproof and again like an uncut piece of wire which of course is the holy grail. It takes only a little more time and a small investment in tools. Bikes are out in the environment and get a lot of vibration which makes me worry about those other connectors.
I don't mind doing even the PITA jobs once but having to redo a job because I took shortcuts would probably ruin my whole day.
Plus depending on what you are modding a failure while out riding could be a breakdown and that would definitely ruin my day!!

And for those of you who do wire I'd also say to use a home-run approach if at all possible. More time upfront but so much easier to diagnose problems down the road or disconnect a problem circuit that is not critical to the bike until it can be properly repaired.

I installed a Chrome Glow LED tail and signal, it came with almost everything, and a pretty good set of instructions, wiring diagram, and a resistor to cut power and make the brake light not as bright and is used in the park or tail light mode. The only thing I had to get was a couple of resistors for the signal light portion of my light. I think Chrome Glow sells them seperatly but I just went to my local auto parts store and picked them up, the LED's dont draw enough power to make the flashers work properly causing the signal lights to flash rapidly, the resistors create a larger power draw allowing the flasher to flash at the proper speed.
