No problem. Didn't mean to yell! :)

My cover has hit the hot pipes on occasion and left a melted residue. I find the best (and easiest) way is to heat up the pipes just by going for a quick spin and simply wipe off the crap with a rag in one swipe. I have the black Cobra Swepts, and I assume they are ceramic coated, but it may just be high temp paint. I don't know for sure. I tried "Goo Gone" (made from oranges) on the COLD stock black pipes and it mostly worked with a lot of elbow grease, but turned the flat finish shiny. Which actually looked good, if the whole thing was shiny not just a little patch.
