Looking to clean up the foward controls on the bike. There's just too much stuff down there! I'm looking to remove the smog canister, has anybody pulled it? Did you just cap it off, or is there a better way to remove? How'd it run after? Also relocating the horn, and triming off some of the extra material. How'd you take care of this on your bike?

You may consider going with a BAK, and then the directions would indicate what to do with it. Until you do that, I would suggest leaving as is, otherwise you may run the risk of causing issues with the FI System.

I would love to do the same. If you come up with something let us know. I am going to look at relocating the horn tonight. It looks like they built this badass bike and right as they were unvailing it some said "Oh **** we forgot the horn..um.......lets just put it here. That works"

I agree on the horn. I'm sure we can find a better place and less unsightly.

On the two custom Strykers we did we put the Emissions can in front of the motor and inside of the Low and Mean Chin Radiator scoop. All we had to do is lengthen the hoses and safety wire it into place. Once we moved it out of the way the bracket that held the "can" can be removed or replaced with a 48 state left side peg mount. We are working on several videos, one of them will show you how we did this.

While I was cleaning the bike yesterday I fount the hose schematic for the canister. All it looks like it does in prevent the gas fumes from entering the atmosphere. I remember my dirtbike had the over flow coming out the top and the throttle body also had an overflow that was routed under the bike.

What would be the problem with removing the charcole canister and leaving the hoses open??

OK well I talked a dealership mechanic here is california and asked the question.. if I was to remove the canister for a while to have it painted could I still drive the bike with out it. Basically he didn't tell me that I can remove it but just don't plug the two hoses.

I will be removing it soon...lol... I hope this helps others with there clean-up.

Thats cool. May only be an Inspection item. We don't even have canisters on our bikes here in New York at least.
