Hey guys I just got me a strykeri, this is my first bike but I have ridden a few 250cc bikes before.I dont have a bike license yet but I took it around the neighborhood a couple of times.Love the bike its awsome but one thing that bothers me a little and most likely its me being inexperienced rider is when i switch to 2nd or 3rd gear , I smoothly let go of the clutch all the way but when i try to give it a little gas i hear this heavy metallic clunk right underneath me same thing happens when i let go of the trhrottle. So that kind of kills all the fun for me right now,not knowing if theres something wrong with a bike or its me but even if try to hit the throttle as smooth as possible i can still feel that slight uncomfartable pressure and little metal sound.

Thanks for all your help ;D

I agree. It sounds like your engine speed isnt high enough for the vehicle speed. The gears in the Stryker are tall and the engine stumbles and clunks when the aforementioned happens. Or is it just a single clunk every time?

Get on an open road and when you get to second run it up to the rev limiter so you can feel how high it will actually rev. dont hold it on the rev limiter. You will also feel the power band where it kicks in and starts to drop off. That will help you learn where to time your shifts by sound and feel. It sounds like you need to be shifting a little higher.

You need to slip the clutch (i.e., release it slowly while giving it a little more gas) after your shifts. This is especially true of your 1st to 2nd shift. Once you get more miles on the bike your clutch will tend to "wear-in" and the need to do this will diminish somewhat. 2nd gear is a little too tall for the torque in this engine at low rpms.
