Has anyone bolted on the Cobra 2 into 1 pipe on a stock stryker? If so, how does it run? I'll be riding my bike on an insane trip this year thru extreme elevation changes. I'm curious if aftermarket exhausts on stock strykers cause problems at higher elevations, such as Denver.

Really? How does the 2 into 1 sound? Also, with all of the technical discussions regarding the Cobra Fi2000, I am hesitant to purchase one. Did the Fi2000 run as advertised without check engine lights and any other odd behavior? My bike is my primary mode of transportation and I hate to start sacrificing reliability for the sake of more power. If I can get away with merely installing the 2 into 1 and leaving everything else alone, I believe I will.

You do not need a Cobra unit or any other IF you are just changing the pipes, and leaving your stock air box. The FM mod is necessary when both the pipes and the air intakes are changed out. I have a Cobra Fi2000, and it runs great with no issues at all. The bike responds better, more crisp and responsive on the throttle, it doesn't just add power.

I have the Cobra 2 into 1 in Chrome (#2490) on my bike & have had for 4K miles. Looks good, lighter than stock ,has a good sound although alittle louder than I would perfer when I really NAIL IT. Great sound @ idle. I put it on @ the same time w/a Cobra Fuel controller (92-1770CL) Bike runs better & really feels strong in mid range PULLS HARD. I get alot of compliments on it from other bikers esp HD riders. I lost 1MPG overall but that is probably a comb... of both items & I had to set in rich on Low speed setting screw to get rid of most decel popping, decel popping is more pronounced w/ this exhaust if you don't richen it up. If you want I can sent you picures. The exhaust finish has held up perfect as has the heat shields, it was a perfect bolt on fit & Cobra is to be complimented for the high quality of this exhaust.

I just read another post on this topic & I disagree w/it: you need some type of Fuel controller as well as you won't get all the benefit in performance from the exhaust w/out a controller to fatten up the fuel mixture. This engine from the factory runs REALLY LEAN, JUST LOOK @ THE EXHAUST ENDS ON ANY STOCK STRYKER . That's why you get low speed bog, bird whistling noises & surging/ lopping issues on stock units. In regard to the Cobra FI controller I had none of the issues I had read about on all previous postings from '011-'012 prior to installing one on my bike. .

Same here. I love my auto tuner and my setup. I has my with only exhaust on. Now i have air intake installed and my better. Taller gears, smoother, responsive, pulls harder and reaches High speed faster.

Gear 1 was clunky but noticed that if bike is still reving while changing into Gear 2 then it gets clunky. But if i ensure that engine is not reving by rolling trottle in opposite direction before changing gears and very quickly dumping Gear in 2 before reving

I believe I'll be purchasing the black Cobra 2 into 1 with the FI2000 auto tuner on my bike. I've been down the tuning road before with Harleys and other metrics. I ride this one dang near every day for primary transportation. If I'm going to start tinkering with the motor, then I'm not taking chances with the A/F mixture. And another thing, if she gets too lean and I bake in traffic at 5pm (not uncommon in DFW), I'm not going to increase the temps inside the motor thanks to a lean mix. The exhaust plus the auto tuner appear to be the way to go.
