I bought a cobra powrflo air intake for my bike. I copied and pasted the part numbers off cobra USA to revzilla. The one that arrived said it was for a Yamaha bolt l, I have a Yamaha stryker. Everything fits just like it should besides the support bracket. How necessary is that bracket and what should I do? I have it installed on my bike already and I would really hate to take it apart and send it back and wait.

The bracket supports the throttle body that the intake is attached to, because the throttle body/manifold is attached only by rubber hoses, and the weight of all that may cause it to sag and bounce, putting stress on the coupling that it wasn't designed to handle. My Velociraptor intake has a bracket that bolts from the bottom of the throttle body to a bolt directly below on top of the crankcase.
If you have the means, I would try to either make one yourself, or call to order the correct bracket. No need to send the whole thing back I don't think.

I’m no mechanic but, if you changed the air intake, you probably need to have your ECU flashed or use a power commander due to the change in air/fuel mixture. I can’t speak to the power commander but I installed a cobra powerflow intake and had the ECU flashed (Ivan’s Performance) and didn’t think I could be happier. That was…until I added cobra swepts:)
