I was able to install the "newer" auto tuner this week. After a 75 mile ride though twisties, the city and some highways, it performed better than I thought it would. I could defiantly feel a difference with response throughout the entire RPM range. The engine seemed to run smoother at while cruising and didn't feel like it was working as hard during acceleration. That notorious skipping in 2nd gear seemed to lessen dramatically.

For those that don’t know, the 2nd gen auto tuner has different parameters at “stock setting” and a rheostat that allows you to adjust the fuel mixture when the auto tune isn’t active. Another cool thing is, if you are having problems and you think it‘s the tuner, you can turn it off via the rheostat instead of having to fully remove the entire unit.
This install took literally 5 minutes. I haven’t felt the need to adjust the mixture because, honestly I totally satisfied with it now.

Nothing on Cobra's website about this "2nd gen auto tuner." You must be the first to try it. I saw your post in the PowerPro thread.....

UrbanRage:
""So today I thought I would call Phil at Cobra and see if they have changed anything with the auto tuner. He told me he is going to send me the Gen 2 Auto Tuner. From what it sounds like they have update the programming and also added and adjustable pot that will allow you to adjust the mixer at lower RPMs. I am curious to see how it works, I will post up the results once it get here. wait am i understanding this correctly.... its the auto tuner that, (hence the name), auto tunes and is adjustible? why would you want to adjust it if its suppose to tune its automaticlly "a bizillon" times a sec (or whatever)?
It will begin to lean or richen the mixture when you romp on the throttle and/or are in the higer RPM range. I don't have the exact RPM but if you wanted I can give you the engineers cell number. You can call him directly.. that's what I did. Hope this answers your question...lol..

Nothing on Cobra's website about this "2nd gen auto tuner." Just the old PowerPro. Pics please.
+1
I will get pics of the new board once I get home.. All you do is open the orignal case, unplug the wires, insert new board, plug back the wires back in and BOO-BAM you're done.

Here is the new circuit board that was sent from Cobra. The blue square is where you can adjust the fuel when the auto tuner isn't tuning.. The green LED next to it will blink faster or slower depending which way you are moving it.

So are they giving everyone with a gen 1 a free updated gen 2? Is there any differents besides the adjustable fuel mixture at idle?

Purchased a auto tuner for my 2011 Stryker. When I installed it it would not turn on. Called cobra talked to tech. Sent me a new gen 2 tuner installed today. In the box was a paper that told you how to adjust the tuner. Rode it a little after install seemed to work good without any adjusting.

This is false info on second generation auto tuner per cobra tech.

Yes I have Phil's number and thanks for sending. I spoke to cobra,s Mike who cliamed that there is no way to shut off tunner at the box. He said you will have to disconnect completely. He also said that even if it were able to shut off then you would misfire or not start because you won't have the stock injector plugs working like they are supposed to.

He claims that info is false. I even offered him 600 box for new one and he said he would take my money but info is false

I called Phil's number and left him several messages.
