Just installed the intake and noticed there is basically no pressure sandwiching the filter to the intake base plate when you tighten the cover down. I shined a light up under the intake and reached in from the back side looking down from the top. You can get a bent needle nose plier in the back side and push on the filter and it was barely making contact with the base plate. There should be a little pressure on the filter to seal it up and prevent dirt from getting by the filter base. My fix was to cut 4 small strips of 3/8" adhesive backing window foam the width of the edge inside the filter cover or just put it on the filter back around the edge. This will provide the proper compression on the filter the way it should have been from Cobra to begin with. It was a little difficult to line the filter up in the cover after putting the foam strips in and would be better to place it on the filter edge after thinking about it...Hope these instructions make sense without pics.:thumb:

I'll check mine when I get out of work. But there is something I did notice when I installed it. I didn't like how it just kinda of was sandwiched in there. I would have thought there would have at least been a short neck on the adapter for the filter to sit on. hard to tell if it was realling sitting in the groove on the air cleaner itself when I bolted it together.

It wasn't sloppy loose, just not a compression at all when you tighten up the cover bolts, just needed to be 1/16 or so taller filter or the casting tolerances on the cover aren't very precise. Thought about just running a bead of silicone around the sealing surface of the filter, would probably achieve the same thing.
