So the slip on wasn't doin it for me....I wanted louder.

Removed the baffle....very easy btw. I just took it back off and punched it out with big socket and extension.

Huge difference....obviously much louder.

Just curious tho how this would affect warranty (backpressure, etc.)

And would I have gotten the same results if I would have just removed baffle from stock? Honestly I don't even know if its possble to remove from stock as I took it off as soon as I got the bike home the first day. Plus I like the look of the slip on better....but still just curious.

Thnx

The baffles aren't to bad but the Cat is a real bear at the front of the muffler assembly.

No warranty issues...... and the stock baffles are welded in. You can take them out with drills and dremels and saws or whatever, and a lot of patience. Just easier getting the slipon, and if you get sick of haveing the baffle out, you don't even have to take the pipe off. Just take the tip off and shove the baffle back in. Don't even have to worry about putting the screw back in, it fits very snug.

Back pressure is not an issue in street applications as far as harm to the engine. It's all about performance...and in a nutshell it goes like this:

less back pressure = less low end torque/more high end HP

more back pressure = more low end torque/less high end HP

Simple as that....in all honesty, factory stock pretty much the best for every day street riding. When people (including me!) start putting on drag pipes and Big Air kits, they start complaining about low end and cruising performance....well, BAK's and open pipes are meant for all out WOT HP gains...not puttin' around the neighborhood. So keep that in mind when doing future mods...(and just for future reference, there is a huge difference between a BAK and the Cobra Powrflo...just in case you're thinking that way :) )

Good luck :) :) :)

Thnx guys
Ya...I had no idea about the stock one. Just that its heavy compared to the slip on.
Glad to hear backpressure won't be an issue with warranty.

I don't really plan on getting a tuner or a diff airbox....bike runs fine stick imho.

I just wanted louder pipes to get other drivers attention. Now onto the wuss horn.....lol.

Thnx again
