Cobra Slip On Worth It?

I've checked the threads for Cobra Slip On but the sound clips aren't clear enough.
Is this slip on really quiter than our drilled pipes ?
Don't want to make the cosmetic change if the sound isn't worth it .

Thanks I just bought it! Can't wait to install it! 8)
Got my Cobra Slip on and it is loud. Dad has the Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 1 on his Raider and my Slip on is louder.

Set off a few car alarms today in the parking lot. ;D 8)
Ordered mine last night! ;D
So I'm going to attempt to put a big question to rest this week...What does the Slip-on sound like compared to drilled out??? We all can watch youtube videos of one or the other but I have yet to see anyone do a one shot comparison with the same bike in the same environment. They always use the garage or the camera is moving close and far away from the exhaust. My exhaust came in yesterday but due to work don't have time to pick it up and install it until Friday. The plan is to set up my video camera in a stationary spot start the bike and give it a couple revs and let it idle a bit, then I will leave the camera going while I replace the exhaust which has the 4(8)-1/2inch holes drilled out with the Cobra Slip On and once again a couple revs and idle. Don't worry I will edit out the install part with all the swearing, I just want to remove most of the variances in sound and think that if I keep it recording and in the same spot the whole way through it will do just that. :p
Vizh, I wanted to do that. But when the pipe didn't come in the day I thought it would I was all pissed off and not in the mood to film anything. Then when it did finally come in, I was too anxious to slap it on and hear it. Patience of a **** child, I tell you...

I know trust me lol. About 10 minutes after I made my post about doing the video my daughter asked me to drop her off at the nail salon...kicked her out and ran over to the dealer and grabbed my Slip On, lol. If it wasn't for being on overnights at work and dead tired I would have been out there...luckily I'm tired...the camera is charging for tomorrow...lol.
Thanks for taking the time to do this. I had intentions to do something similar but that lasted about 2 minutes after my slip-ons arrived.

lol, yup... getting the shakes wanting to throw the thing on and go for a ride ;D
Here you go guys/gals. I installed my Cobra Slip-on today, took about 25 minutes that includes removing a couple bolts I didn't need to. So I have to say the difference is night and day. With the baffles drilled the sound was not steady and uniform, it now is and I love it.
http://www.youtube.com/embed/tQnacQYYo0E The tone is steadier and consistant with the Cobra, with the drilled out it seemed like you had to have a build up of unburned gases in the exhaust before you get a solid sound. On the third rev of the stock exhaust is when you hear the rasp/rumble, you hear it every time with the Cobra...and it's always a rumble.
Looks good. I do have one question for you, is that slapping sound I'm hearing when you get on the gas sound that bad, or is it just the quality of the camera?

It's the camera, it's a good deep tone when you are on the gas. On first start up and rev I actually scared myself because I wasn't expecting the sound I got lol.
Lmao! Cool. I'm almost over the fence for the slip on. Maybe Santa will hook me up this year. ;)
Just finished installing the Cobra Slip On. 1hr is about what you will need, maybe less if you're more mechanic than I am (which is not much). All I can say is that when you start it up the first time you won't be able to wipe the grin off your face. It makes the bike sound like it looks. My buddy has a Harley Sportster 1200 with Rush slip ons, this sounds even better to me. Deeper, think radial engine airplane. Best couple hundred bucks I've spent so far! ;D

P.S. After a 30 mile ride to try out the Cobra I think I can say I like the sound it makes when you downshift to a stop as much as the sound of acceleration. It pops and cracks, but in a subtle, kinda mean sound.
Couldn't take it anymore, I just ordered the Black Cobra Slip-on from Dennis Kirk. Got the last one in-stock.
Super Choice!

I rode mine all over town today, first chance I have had to ride it since I put it on last week. I love it as well especially under pass overs...lol 8)
