Cobra Slip On Worth It?

I've checked the threads for Cobra Slip On but the sound clips aren't clear enough.
Is this slip on really quiter than our drilled pipes ?
Don't want to make the cosmetic change if the sound isn't worth it .

hey just curious where you ordered your cobra slip on from and how much ? I'm wanting to do the same, I really like the look of the stock pipes but want the sound of the slip on, or close to it. And it's not worth driling out the stock mufflers just to loose 10% of your power.

Slip-on Runs between $200-$225, you can find it pretty much anywhere for that price anything more youre getting ripped off.
239 shipped from Dennis Kirk 8) IMHO the slip on is worth it. I personally don't think how a full system could be better, as far sound goes.

I just got done reading through this thread, and am not very interested. I have two problems. My bike has a lot of chrome and I am hoping make it all mat black in time. I have also found some pipes that I really like that kind of just drop off (not sure the names). Is it worth it to do slip ons now, if I will be doing more later? I am not sure how long it will be before I can justify dropping $600+ on full pipes. I am looking for inexpensive yet good quality mods to make in the near furure.
You can check into the cost of coating your stock head pipes. Maybe get them done black to match the slip on.

Man don't say that. :( I've got to wait till next month because of lack of funds. I so want to hear my exhaust without having to drill it. I already have my Fuel Pak. Does everyone pretty much agree that Phat is the lowest price with free delivery?
don't know if you bought your slip on yet. But here is where i got min in less than a week. Off of amazon.

Drop off?? Like fall of the bike? That was a bad install, if thats the case. No way that slip on should fall of with those bolts and loctite.

Take your time. Black out the chrome that you want. check out some of the bikes on here that have a really good flow. When you are ready to spend the big bucks for your pipes, tuner, airbox. You will know which ones to buy without regret!

Not drop off the bike :tsk: The come down and angle way down and are very short. I was just not sure how to describe it and "drop off" worked at the time.

sounds like you are describing the curb burners mikoloe posts pics of sometimes
Personally I love the Cobra slip on. it really is the best "bang" for the buck. Sounds great. For me it is not too loud and not too quiet, just right. Plus, as you can see from Zolemite's pics, it cleans up the rear end very nice.
How does it compare to the V&H Twin slash and the Cobra Swepts, for anyone that may have heard all 3?
It's better than stock!
Mine (chrome) was $180 on denniskirk.com. Love, love, love the sound over stock drilled!
Old post but read it today. You guys are killing me, i am ordering tomorrow.
You won't be sorry!
I don't think I will be either from what I read. Besides I am tired of some of my friends that I ride with keep asking me if my bike is running because theirs are louder.
I ordered them now I can't wait till they get here so I can put it on. Are they here yet?
