Has anyone else taken the baffles out of their cobra sweeps and getting a good amount of back firing? I have considered putting the baffles back in. I was going to get a new air intake, would this reduce the backfiring? I love the sound of it without baffles besides the back firing.... it sounds crappy when it does that.

a fuel controller should stop it from doing that its backfiring because it's not getting the right amount of fuel. Adding a air intake without a fuel controller it will backfire even more.

XPS is correct. You need a fuel controller. It alone would solve your problem. But if you plan on putting any kind of aftermarket intake a fuel programmer is an absolute must.

I took the baffles out of my Cobra sweeps too. What a PITA they were to get out, right? I love the sound, but am getting the backfiring too. I ordered the Cobra PowrPro fuel programmer and was told it will take care of the problem. I'll have it on Monday and let you know how it turns out.

Dohduh, I installed the Cobra FI2000 fuel processor today. Night and day difference!! No more backfiring and the bike runs soooooo much better!
