So I generally ride all year, and it's currently 15 degrees where I live. It was a bit chilly on the way to work this morning. How many of you are stupid like me?

For the most part, my riding gear only consists of a good pair of gloves, a leather jacket, a neck warmer and a 3/4 helmet with a shield. That usually does the trick for me, as the cold doesn't bother me that much. What are you wearing to keep warm?

I live in the Northwest & the only time I don't ride is when the roads are icey/snow or when the leafs are falling.

I have heated grips, heated gloves, Joe Rocket riding pants, Joe Rocket Jacket over a hoodie, Red Wing motorcycle boots, thermal socks & a full face helmet so I stay pretty warm.

Since it was a "warm" (35F) & sunny day today I took my Wife's FZ1 for a pleasure ride thru some twisties today. No heated grips or heated gloves on her bike but I had a great time. 150hp in a 485lb bike makes for a fun ride ;D

Back in the day when I was stationed in Oklahoma I would ride in the snow and cold (I was young and not caring) now I am old and wussy, if it is below 50 I take the truck. I guess I have been in the south to long.

Been raining and snowing for the past 2 months almost non stop. 6 miles to the north east of us there is 10 feet of snow and solid ice roads. Past 3 days it's stopped snowing. Been 20 degrees at night and 35 days. By Saturday it's going to be in the high 20s at night and the high 40s in the mid afternoon. Ground temps will be below freezing but air will be 45 degrees or so. If I can get the bikes up the drive way and out to the street where the sun hits we will ride down the southwest side of the mountain. About a 60 mile round trip. Speeds never get above 35 mph so chill factor not bad. Places where the sun never hits though the roads will be icy. Been more than 2 months since we been out for a ride and since I got my operation on my neck. Got my neck brace off 2 weeks ago so I'm itching to get a ride in. ::) They don't salt the roads up here. 8)

$200 HD boots with thick socks, feet never get cold. Sweat pants, levis and ridding pants. T shirt 2 sweat shirts and leather jacket. Ski mask under full helmet and scarf. $40 gloves. The only thing that ever gets a bit cold is my fingers at freeway speeds in temps below 38 degrees.

Actually we are about 140 miles from Shasta but right now there is about the same amount of snow, 2 miles from my house the snow bank from the plows look to be about 8 feet and the road up to Watts Lake is closed with about 4 feet and I think there is 10 to 12 feet 6 miles further up. We are lucky we live on the south west side of Grizzly MT at 3,000 feet. so far the snow has been light and melting fast on this side. That's why I said we might ride down this side Saturday because you can't go the other way without 4 wheel drive and chains. Here's a few pics.

Wow, I have only seen/been in actual snow only once in my life. Back when I was in my early teens (long story)... but lets just say I don't care to see it again, but it looks nice in pictures, lmao!!! :D

Rode tonigt. Only 32 degrees and my bike had trouble starting on Its own. Had to folk the trottle a lil. Anyone experience this
Mine does not like the cold...usually takes a little longer to start. In Fl, it really doesn't get too cold, but noticed this when the temp dropped below 45 outside, and my bike was parked outside. And here I thought she was just throwing a hissy fit about being outside in the cold, instead of a warm garage....lmao

Although they crank 1 or 2 maybe 3 more times when its below freezing I have never had to hit the throttle on either bike to get them to start. I park them out in a 3 horse slant trailer that has open slot windows.
The Virago was a pain to get started though in cold damp weather specially at altitudes over 5,000. feet. Had to take the plugs out and heat them up to get it to start. But that was a old carbed bike. Never go back.

Toby~ you live in a beautiful place! I remember spending big $$ on fishing gear just to fish for Salmon. This is when I new I was not a fisherman. I was more the type of guy that would get fresh salmon from the indians ($10 ea) and spend the rest of the day (smoking the Salmon~salmon sushi) BBQ'ing and drinking and watching football with my friends. GOOD TIMES !
