I'm still trying to decide on some aftermarket mirrors.....can't seem to find any I like. Don't like all the teardrop/blade looking stuff that every HD guy has on his bike.

Question is: in looking at some Kury Trident mirrors you can get either flat glass or convex. Is there a benefit to having convex? Are they supposed to cover your blindspots?

lol... I resent that comment... I don't ride an HD :p
I resemble that comment :p Actually, when I put my mirrors on and changed out the headlight I thought to myself "dammit, now it looks like all the other bikes on the road. Still is sweet though..."

Usually the convex would have a wider view but at the cost of some distortion. You have to get used to it. Personally I dont like them cause although you can see more around you it is harder to gauge distance.
This exactly

Yep, I think at the cost of distance distortion, the convex are not good. I passed a bike yesterday that had mini-mirrors that covered the blind spots. They looked half-good and were probably worth their weight in gold. But I just look over my shoulder.

I hear you man. I use the bigger size blind-spot mirrors on my truck and I totally trust them. When I'm on my bike, I'm doing a head check....period.
