While going for a ride along the water today I got pulled over by the O.P.P. ( For the non Canadians; Ontario Provincial Police). Knew it was just a matter of time, But couldn't figure out why, I wasn't going any faster then the cars ahead of me. So I stopped my bike, turned it off, and got off it and sat on the seat waiting for the officer to get out of the SUV. Figured I was getting questioned about my side license plate. When he got out I started laughing and so did he, because it was someone I've known for over 30 years. We grew up in the same neighbor hood. ;D Said well I know it wasn't for speeding! Did you recognize me? He said nope, pulled you over for your helmet. I ride with what I can only be described as a almost beanie. We have helmet laws here and some ride with these knock offs that look like helmets, but are nothing more then a baseball cap. Anyway I was good.
So we shout the **** a bit and spoke about the side plate, which is why I thought he pulled me over. Anyway for anyone riding or living in Ontario, side plates are legal, as long as they are horizontal and not vertical. Reason, photo radar has a hard time with vertical. Oh ya, he thought I had put the rear tire on the back, couldn't believe the bike came with that. 8)
