About a year ago I saw a Stryker and told the wife: "I must have that". I sold my Supermagna and am now flying out to pick up a Stryker tomorrow. This will be followed by an 1800 mile ride home. I expect it should take about 4-5 days. I purchased my Super about 6 years ago in NY and rode it back to CA and had a great time. Here is my issue: How can I make this trip better?

That sounds like an adventure. My advice would be to put a windshield on it, but I am not sure where you are picking it up, and where you are heading. I have used a gel type pad that sits on top of my seat on other bikes when I went on long rides. I rode a KLR650 around Lake Superior (1200+ miles in 3 days) in 2009. That pad saved my A$$ literally on that bike. Post up what your route is. That way if you have issues along the way or need a place to take a break. Take your time and enjoy the journey. I am thinking that I need to get away myself. Thinking of a run on the Stryker from Canada to the Mexico border, but all of my friends think I am crazy.

Certainly not Crazy brother. I enjoy the long rides more than anything. :) As far as the gel pad... Don't think I am going to need it because my wife has already chewed my ass off.

Two things you could do to make the ride more enjoyable is,
#1 take more than 5 days to enjoy the country.
#2 buy a 2nd Stryker and take your wife with you to ride home with you.

I sincerely wish I could take more than 5 days. Unfortunately, the wife is insisting that I make it home in an expeditious fashion. However, I suspect I may have a few rain delays. ;) As far as having the wife ride with me...LOL!!! Love her to death but that would defeat the purpose. It's funny, I have been trying to get her to ride, but she is content to sit on the back.

I will depart from Indianapolis and ride NW through SD. A stop in Billings and then through Yellowstone to SLC, UT. BTW, Any other SLC Stryker owners on the Forum?

Toby you are such a romantic.

We will be doing 4000 miles in 25 dyas but only about 18 days of travelling. Rest will be local rides and rest days.
Boulevard screen is a must for the long journeys.
