First off, I want to say thank you to everyone on this forum. Because of all your great posts I had no doubt about the results of drilling the baffles on my 2012 Stryker. I got to be honest, this mod scared the crap out of me. My Stryker is the best present I've ever got, and I didn't want to screw it up. But because of you guys, I didn't bother trying different hole sizes, and going out for 4, 5, or 6 test runs. I drilled 4 half-inch holes with my 20V cordless DeWalt, painted the baffles with flat black high-heat paint, and started her up.

The results - are PERFECT.
I LOVE the look of the stock exhaust. It's one of the things that drew me to this bike. But I always hated that the sound of the engine was louder than the exhaust...problem fixed. It sounds deeper, louder, and a touch meaner.

Thanks again to everyone for sharing your experiences. You rock.

Thomas in Toronto.

It really couldn't be simpler. I followed the instructions for the 8 1/2" holes that are all around this forum. I punched through with a hammer and small screw driver. Then I used a smaller bit, I think around 1/4". Then drilled out with the 1/2" bit. Then I gave each hole a couple quick squirts from some heat resistant paint. Took me about 20 minutes. Cost about $15 for the 1/2" bit and paint.

That's a real beauty. Love the red. What tail bag is that?
Thank you.
It's an Ogio tail bag. Perfect size for the Stryker, and it clips off easily so you can take it with you.
I just didn't have the heart to hide those pipes with saddlebags.
