dad-gum oil debate

Guys I’m having a hard time choosing which oil I want to switch to now that I’ve got 4k on the odometer. I’ve been running Yamalube up to this point. I’ve read plenty and am just curious to see what yall are running. Honestly I’d like to go with something that can be had at Wal-Mart or a common auto supply store. If I’m in a pinch I want to have a readily available supply no matter where I’m at. I've been going back and forth with the idea of synthetic or regular. For synthetics I'm eyeballing the Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 as well as the Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w-40. From what I can tell the Mobil 1 V-twin is more designed for air-cooled engines with an external primary drive…plus it’s not JASO certified and I’m not sure it’s ok to run with a wet clutch. For a non-synthetic I've been thinking about Valvoline's 4 Stroke Motorcycle 20w-50. Opinions? Concerns? Thoughts?

Well after much thought I decided to go the non-synthetic route. I picked up some Valvoline 4-Stroke Motorcycle Oil in 10W-40 for $4.99/qt. I just couldn’t justify spending $10+/qt. for synthetic when I know that good quality modern conventional oil will get the job done. I also picked up the 3.25" Wal-Mart SuperTech ST7317 oil filter for $2.80. Our bikes call for 3.59 quarts with a filter change but she darn near took 4 due to the larger oil filter.
Thats all the stuff I have on mine I'm on my second oil change and the bike runs and shifts perfect.

I don't know call me crazy, but I always stick with factory filter or mobli 1 filter. Like I said before syn oil in a bike seems a little overkill but I always sweat that the cheapy filters just are not as good.

Mobil 1 and supertech filters are both made by champion just relabeled. This topic has been beat to death on another forum I'm on. Just trying to save ya a couple of bucks ;D
