I looked long and hard at the Honda Fury, before the Stryker came out. I was also looking at the Raider. Could not decide and at the time did not have the money. When the Stryker came out I then had a third choice. I read tons of info and looked at all the reviews. Never test road any but sat on a lot. I am so very happy I got the Stryker. I think it is the best option of the three. I think the metal fenders and belt drive played a lot into the decision. But the most important is for sure the look of the bike. The 210 tire is a bonus.

Nope, it was more raider, worrior, and kaw custom but that is only a 900 and the others are little more than I wanted to pay. Didn't really care for the looks of the fury. The only Honda I really like is the magna but finding a nice one that has not had the crap beat out of it or need a lot of work is sorta like a needle in a haystack

For the price a Stryker is EXTREMELY HARD TO BEAT!! I looked at the Fury but I found it a bit too small for me, I'm a big guy the Stryker fits me better and again the price.... so hard to beat 10999 for a brand new bike with a 210, 1300cc water cooled engine and the looks.

I also was looking at a Fury when they first came out. I even did a 3 hour ride to see one at the nearest dealer as a present to myself when I passed the skills test on my learners. I then test rode a Sabre at the local dealer when they had their Demo Days. I did really ride the ride and handling compared to my 83 Shadow. Then I saw the Stryker online, and it was pretty much love at first site. Took a trip to the nearest dealer that had one to see it in person, and sit on it. A couple of months later went to a bike show in Vancouver BC, so I could see the three colors. Fell in love with the Blue, ordered one about a month and a half later. Longest 6 weeks of my life waiting for it to come over from Japan. I am loving this bike, and having started riding a little later in life than most, I have managed to put on over 11000 Km in which ironically is exactly 1 year today that it came home with me.

I was considering the HD Dyna Street Bob, but after I saw the Stryker, I fell in love with it and all the other bikes didn't even got close. I had a suzuki boulevard s40 and after I crashed it, I just hated it and felt that I had to get rid of it. So I fixed it and put it in storage for the winter. When the temps started to get nice, I took it out of storage went to the yamaha dealer on my first ride out of storage and traded that damned thing for the Stryker. WOW what a bike... I love it.

I actually looked at the street bob as well but being 6'3" I was actually to tall for that bike.

I'm 5'7 so it was a perfect match but almost $5k more expensive than the stryker... Plus it's air cooled... and not as cool looking as the raven stryker... 8)

Naw, I didn't consider the Fury, but since I bought the Stryker I have been eyeing the V-rod. Not till this year, however, did they move the handlebars and foot controls to an acceptable position. I have only sat on a v-rod so I can't say whether they are comparable to the Stryker in feel or performance. Maybe someone here can shed some light on this. P.S. I love my Stryker.

Also being 6'3" I had the same issue with pretty much every HD I sat on when bike shopping. They just felt crappy to me as they were

I fell in love with the Fury when it first came out. But then I saw it in person and was dissapointed in how much plastic there was. Now don't get me wrong. I was dissapointed, not detered. I was still thinking of getting one and then I was intruduced to the stryker and it was love at first sight.

I definately looked at the fury and checked out the reviews but all along I thought I can't see myself ever riding a chopper type bike. I have always been a sport bike rider. I watched all the OCC shows available here in my neck of the woods. Loved the show and really admired the work and the bikes but not my style. Then I sold my BMW K1200RS because the bike was getting a bit to heavy for my aging, short legs and the wife was not so keen to ride anymore. It has always been my desire to try a Harley so the standard answer everytime someone asked, "what would you like for you birthday/xmas?" was, buy me a Harley. Needless to say the closest I ever got to that wish was a few HD models sitting in the show case. So after the BMW went I started thinking, well maybe I should get a cruiser. The Harley's here in RSA are generally around a third more expensive than the other cruisers and the parts and services are very expensive so I thought that just maybe I may not enjoy the cruiser thing so decided it would be a smaller capacity, cheaper bike to start with and see how I like it. So I looked at the Fury, it was a bit too expensive and definately too stretched out for my liking and I settled for a Boulevard M50. I started to enjoy the cruiser ride but, yep the shortage of power soon got to me. Again I looked at the fury and again I thought, it's too stretched and besides the trade offer on the M50 was way too low. So I went to look at the Triumph Thunderbird. That was a 1600cc straight twin. Really nice a bit bigger than I wanted, was thinking more like 1200/1300cc and very expensive and again the trade offer was crazy low. Back home I was reading up about the new Stryker which was only just coming into the country, price seemed good and it was a 1300cc so I popped down to the Yamaha dealer to see it. Sorry, no stock yet, still on the ship, only due on the floor in a weeks time so they showed me the Star 1300 and I sat on a used Raider. Raider felt good but a 1900cc, that's a bit more than I wanted. Then they hit me with an amazing trade offer on the M50. So I took the plunge. I said I'll take the Stryker, get me the Blue one, deal closed right there without seeing or sitting on the bike. Then a few days later the guy tells me the shipment has only got the red ones, well I wanted blue but Im not going to wait months for the next shipment so ok, I'll take it. I had so many doubts running through my head after that, the more I looked at the pictures the more I thought, man this bike is too stretched, this is a mistake, maybe I should wait awhile, maybe cancel the deal, on an on the doubts kept going around in my head, then the call came, the bike had arrived. I thought well I'll go down and take a look, if my first thoughts were negative I would back out and run. I walked into the showroom and my first thought was. Wow what a beauty. The rest is history. I really love the bike and have no regrets at all. Oh and about the Fury, well it's too stretched out for me, thanks but no thanks.
