Disappointed with Stryker

Well I have had this bike for over a month now and had a chance to put in some long miles over the weekend. The bike looks great and turns heads but thats about it. The MPG has not been good (may improve after service). Riding over 75 mph is simply not cool due to the wind. The engine is lacking overall in the area of power and smoothness. This bike is good for cruising around town for me but I need something that can offer more. Therefore, this Stryker will be going up for sale in the near future.

Glad you feel better about your ride. This was never about the Stryker being a bad bike,,,there is no ideal and we are on this forum to improve and make them our own. Personal taste and prior experience determine how we take to them. We all have different tastes,,,not all of us prefer Blondes,,,Oh wait, bad example :) If you still feel the way about the Stryker after the mods, go and try something different. Ride several, make a short list and then re-ride. Good luck with what you wind up doing.
Thanks Dlis. I have owned a few bikes in my life so I totally understand what you are saying. The Stryker is a cruiser and performs very well as one. I have to compare apples with apples. With the Auto tune and the air intake, I am a happy camper. A quick release Blvd. windshield will seal the deal on this bike.

I'm sorry... I keep hearing peeps complain about the power? Wait a minute.. it's a 1300CC V-Twin... What type of power are you all expecting? I think it's got great power for only a 1300. Again don't come close to my Sport bikes but I just don't understand the complaints about the power? It's perfect for a 1300CC! Get a bigger engine or a sport bike if you're looking for more. I curious as to what the star owners of the 650's, 950's and 1100's would say about the power of this bike. You bought a 1300 and you're getting the power of a 1300!
thank you.
Hey, Don't mention it.... I honestly think I should be voted the #1 Mod as I actually OWN a Stryker! (There I go startin **** again) :-*

Word!
I saw this post earlier in the stages with few comments and saw the topic and was like WTF!.... lol... like other peeps say we have diff taste... but what can u xpect for the price its awesome and looks tight!
coming from a long history of HD ownership, i love this m/c. its got the noises and whining typical of big twins, especially harley's, so used to that. its a lot of bang for the buck. i decided on the stryker after checking out a V-rod,( $$$$ ) and was sold. a little more plastic than i like, but that is being removed as needed ( or not needed ). its a lot more comfortable on longer rides than my xl1200 custom.
Even though I've had mostly sport bikes during my street riding years, my 2 most recent bikes have been cruisers. I came to my Stryker 1300 directly from a Vstar 650. That Star 650 had pipes, and modded airbox and carbs jetted. I can honestly say that for my first couple weeks, even though I obviously saw the brute force power gains over my modded 650, my Stryker did seem to bog quite readily at lower rpms, whereas my 650 wouldn't bog nearly at any rpm in any gear... (within reason of course). Having read another thread on here about the mph/ gear shifts other members here ride at, I feel to be one of the several whom ride with my rpms up a bit more between shifts. I am still waiting for my Cobra swepts to arrive in a couple weeks, and hopefully I can get the Cobra programmer and an air intake soon after, in hopes that it'll help smooth out what I feel in the lower end. I totally love my Stryker... good power, looks great, comfortable, excellent bang for the $...... but thought I would share my 2 cents of experience on this topic..... having come directly from a Star 650 to the Stryker 1300..... ;D

Glad you and your Stryker are getting used to one another as well. :)

SK, the Cobra parts will make a big difference....trust me. I started this thread and have come 180 after installing my air intake. The Stryker is a cruiser so have to keep that in mind but it rides strong and smooth.

What MPG are you getting? My wife & I went on a 200 miles trip over a mountain then cruised along the coast, even got stuck in some 5mph traffic & got 47mpg. We even got a few 80mph burst in there. I have 1,800 miles on my Stryker now.
This thread stinks. If your not in love, your not in love, we get it. I understand it. maybe bored?

I have a 750hp car, my bike is a turd in reality.

I know when I cruise down the road in this Stryker, people Look, gawk, stare, etc. and Nothing else matters; because they are just JEALOUS :) I get soo many compliments and questions that I just cant think of anything not to appreciate.

I knew before I bought it, that it wasn't about performance, it was about style and comfort. :)

I hope that you find happiness buddy, there is always the one out there for you hehe :)
