Went to the DMV today to get address updated on my license and found out I had a flag. I sold a 2001 CBR F4i about 16 months ago to a kid down south and he never put it in his name and had gotten a no insurance tkt. Well i ended up owing around $400 for his ticket of NO: Insurance, Registration, helmet, inspection sticker or license plate. The funny thing is they didn't even tow the bike he got to ride it home....

Luckily the DMV guy helped me out, he dropped it to the minimum payment of $60 and let me fill out a form so i wont have to pay for his no ins tkt's. AND if the bike gets impounded i will be called to come get it since its still legally MY bike.

So if that rig gets towed I may be able to get my F4i which i sold for 5k back for under 1k and hopefully its still in decent shape if it comes to that. Don't have his info to see why he hasn't got it changed over but he had everything he needed to do it.

Ya, it's very important to fill out the release of liability. You could be held responsible if he say crashes into someones car and runs? I have been called twice to get an old rig out of impound that I had sold, both times they just weren't worth the fees. I also had to pay to let them keep it!

Hope if it ever does get towed to impound it's worth more than i owe in storage or I can work out something for them to keep the bike with no charges.

It sure was a sweet bike when i got rid of it. I'm thinking it has either been parted out or re-framed b/c the the ticket was issued 04/23/2011 and it had no other tickets...either way i would probably pay upwards of 1500 to get it back assuming it ran with no frame damage. Would like to have a stunt bike i could beat around on every once in awhile.
