I managed to get out on my bike again today. I have done 38 miles now. Can't believe I am riding in January
Lowering is a definte must for me. I am on tiptoe riding and if I had to stop on an uneven surface I wouldn't feel safe.
REally need a screen too. Did 80mph and was hanging on and thought my feet would blow off the pegs!

Once I get it right for me there will be no stopping me. ;D ;D

That's the problem with being 4' 13"...........

Get the mod bug and you'll be alright. Get the screen ordered.

Did Steve get out on his Raider today also, if so, what does he think?

You love it don't you Jan? It's just an awesome bike. I hope you are able to get some more time in before you hit the states. My wife, Loren, is getting riding time in. And she is getting pretty good. We rode 140 miles today to Upper lake. We rode through more ice than I expected for mid afternoon. Not just miles but dozens of miles. took us 4 and a 1/2 hrs to make that 140 miles. usually takes les than 3 hrs. We meet StaightJacket and his wife down here. His Stryker looks awesome with a Dunlop 250 lowered 1" and rear plate mod. I can't believe my stock rear tire is already shot at 3,100 miles. don't think I will get another 1,000 miles of it. We will be riding back tomorrow after a short visit with the horses.. Hope it's a bit warmer. Told StraightJacjet about the Raider rally in Carson City that Strykers welcome. he Didn't know. Maybe we need to post more info.

Yes Toby you and your wife are brave.
Dreadly we had a it of snow before Christmas and have only had rain since. It is very odd weather this year. Even my daffodils have started coming through thinking it is spring. Only had ice once this year. Bizarre.
Never ridden in January before. :)

Getting quotes for stuff from Tejas, so should get stuff soon. Raider seats have come and are really good. Like new.

Steve went out as we went together. I think he liked it. :)

Seriously need it. Do you have to fit the lowering links as well? I need whatever you had to lower it. I am really on tip toe and would like to be able to have more of my feet on the ground. I got my hubby to sit on the back last week to see what it would be like lower. It was better. Do you have to change the settings on the shocker to make it work?
Do you have to take the shocker out completely like in the vidoe posted on here or can you do it just from the bottom? On the video they almost take the whole bike to pieces!

Hey Jan- No you don't want lowering links with the spring. Would be too much. I have my shock setting all the way to the top, but that is because normally ride 2 up with baggage. For solo ridin and a little baggage. the 4 or 5 setting would be perfect. I did my install just exactly like the video. took me 3-1/2 hours and I was interupted multiple times with customers coming into shop, so was not as bad as I expected. Does feel like you are taking whole bike apart, but really not to bad as long as you just stick with it. I gave some thought about trying to do this mod with shock in chassis, but for safety sake- taking it out is smarter. be very careful while compressing shock to switch springs. 2 people recommended. wear gloves and eye protection.

Jan part of the problem be in the width of the seat. The seat height on the 950 is the same as the Stryker but it is skinnier which makes it seam lower/ easier to reach the ground. Keep that in mind when you mod your seat.

Cold, a little ice on the road, can't let that stop ya when the sun is a shinnin. Only when ice is falling out of the sky and sticking to your face shield that's where you draw the line though. And I say that because we got caught a 1/4 mile before we made it home once. So I know what it's like first hand.
