Problem with Cobra Customer Service !!!

Before checking the forum, Yesterday I purchased a Cobra Fi2000r fuel processor and installed with my new V&H Big Radius. Immediately got the error code 39 and poor performance from bike. Checked the forum to find this is a common issue and typically the processor has to be replaced. I called Cobra customer service and was told I would have to ship this one across country , then wait for them to get it to the lab and diagnose issue then they would ship it back. This would be a minimum of two weeks. I explained that I had just bought it yesterday and that do to it being a common issue other members had new ones shipped straight to them . They said this was not possible. I told them that I would never buy Cobra again and I **** you not the rep laughed . Worst customer service ever !

I have the cobra swepts and use a EJK fuel programmer that i've had no problems with. Never understood why anyone would spend more money for the cobra programmers when this one does the same thing if not more....mines fully adjustable and only $190 shipped after forum discount.

Sorry you had so much trouble with them. I would be pissed.

Amen. They say it's nice because they don't have to bother adjusting it. To me that's a negative point. I like adjusting things to my liking.

Yea and it comes out the box ready for pipes and or intake so really don't have to make any changes if you don't want to. However I will probably make some changes when i get my intake on.

And it's simple as can be to adjust it and can be done on the fly if its mounted on the bars...put mine under the seat and haven't had to touch it in months.

OT: I would be really ticked off being laughed after telling them they lost your future business and even madder that they wouldn't promptly send a new unit after receiving yours....especially since it is only days old and didn't work out-of-the-box. I would email them about it, the rep on the phone is probably technical services while most complaint emails goes to human resources and from my experience most human resources people can make magic happen when it comes to saving face for a product or brand.

Was buying a gun from a big box store and the shift manager wouldn't match the online price from there own web-site, emailed my complaint and received a call the next day. Needless to say the store manager handled the sale and paper work himself when I got there.

Same here, no problems. I imagine the customer rep laughed at you because he couldn't understand why you could not just wait the couple weeks for the repair and ride the bike stock. They do ride just fine stock you know. All I'm saying is don't sweat the small stuff and yell at a guy that is just trying to pay the rent by answering phones. You'll get your upgrade soon enough. Happy riding!

yeah, i don't think one member's bad experience should make all members no longer want to buy Cobra products, I've been buying their stuff for years and I've never had any issues whatsoever, kinda like the old saying goes "you can't throw the baby out with the bath water" if that was the case very few of us would be left on this site with all the complaining that has gone on lately

I love my Cobra. Have put on many after market parts on and my Cobra adjusts accordingly. One of the best purchases I've made to date for my bike. Not fair to blast a company to a large audience just because you had a poor experience.

No but you sure can blast the PRICE $. If you want to blow that kind of money on a processor that you can buy for 1/3 rd the price from another company, then go ahead. I'm happy with my Vance and Hines Fuel Pak. No problems at all and my bike SCREAMS>:rockon:

Does anyone who's running an EJK still have their O2 sensor in place? If so, how does this affect the install? Looks like there is an optional bypass on their website. Any help from anyone whose used it? Looking at purchasing the EJK based on the reviews in this and other threads.

Mine did not bypass it just hooks to injectors and battery. Love mine really helped once I got my pipes on.
