Hey just ordered the yamaha rack that covers the holes when u have a solo
Seat. The thing is I'm not going to have a solo seat and don't like none of the luggage racks that go on the back rest stick out to far and to high.

So my question is if I drill 4 holes in my fender can I use some primer and paint and not have to worry about the factory paint chipping or rust starting this is a 2013 stryker. Any help would be appreciated.

There is some sort of putty that body shops use after they drill holes. Maybe auto parts stores can help you with that.

Ok done some research so far it looks like everyone agrees using blue painters tape and it keeps clear coat and paint from cracking. Couple of pieces and drill into tape then simply pull tape off the painters tape doesn't leave a residue to worry about later then use touch up paint and paint the metal.

The only thing is drill bit size some people say use the correct size right away and some say use a pilot hole then the right size drill bit.

Using the pilot hole drill bit have to keep that centered then the bigger bit. I believe I will use the pilot hole method always works on everything else hope this helps.

Post some pics as I go I really need to start my own bike building forum huh.
