Hello All,

I am looking to drill out my stock exhaust and maybe the air box mod. Looking for simple things to do as I am not in a position to spend any more money than it took to get her in my garage. I was wondering if you folks waited until after the break in period or not before doing such mods.

Thanks!

I know guys that had the dealer install pipes and air kit before they took the new bike home.
I drilled my exhaust the day after I picked up the bike from the dealer. Don't see any problems.

Well thank you for the advice! Pulled the trigger today on 5 1/2" holes in each pipe. The second coat of high temp paint is drying as we speak. Oh, and I also cut down the rear tail light/ liscense plate mount.

I have a question. Where do you drill the holes in the baffles ? don't want to mess up. Thanks for the help.

Here if you can see it. The outer most baffle around the exhaust opening.

make a template out of cardbord or any paper is fine. do the math and use a protractor, draw the holes evenly spaced apart and to your liking, slide your template over the pipe and use a punch to mark the centers. remove template to reuse on the next one and drill away!
