Finally have everything in order to remove all of the goofy crap from underneath the tail light. Does anyone have a step by step or any tips on how to cut it off? Best tools or just basically how. I looked and the part the confuses me is the metal cover behind the tailight on the inside and what to do with the harness from the plate late. Any help?

I have a side mount plate mount. So i need to remove the plastice piece and take the light and all out. The remove the metal plate. Then cut the plastic right below the rear tail light, then measure how much i need to cut off of the metal backing. Finally put it all back together. Sound about right?

Yup.

For the plastic cuts I like using a dremel followed by a sander (palm or belt) for a clean look.
For the metal cuts you should paint the bare metal after you are done.

Did you run wiring to your side plate for a light? I almost when that route & even bought the bracket (horizontal) but the way I ride I'ld be scraping my tag on the ground in the twisties...

Measure twice, cut once ;D

I have the vertical mount. No i havent ran any wiring yet. LE arent to strick where i live, i plan on doing it but not in much of a hurry unless i get pulled over. Im gonna put LEDS all over soon and will probably just run 1 or 2 that way while im at it. The way i mounted my vertical the only way its gonna drag is after my pegs get ripped off! lol
