Dyno'd

Got 'ol blue dyno'd today. 70.88whp/84.71wtq.......not bad considering I'm in Colorado over a mile above sea level.

As far as performance mods go, so far I have:
- kurakyn hypercharger
- Vance & Hines big radius
- gman bully programmer

Also, no adjustments were made, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't running lean after installing all the goodies.

Nice SGT. Thanks!
Nice :)

Does anyone know what the WHP/torque is stock (....or what the drivetrain loss percentage is)???

Yamaha claims 67.2 HP @ 5480 rpm, and 73.8 ft/lb torque @ 3840 rpm, at the crank, but i can't find any figures at the rear wheel. Just wondering how much difference in HP our mods actually make.

...and since most people get their bikes dyno'd AFTER mods, it's hard to get stock numbers.
I was always told as far as cars go its usually 10-15% drivetrain loss(20%for an auto). Seems realistic. At 10% that would put a stock stryker whp at about 61.

Good stuff SGT. I was thinking of putting mine on the dyno just to see what kind of power I am getting. I already know what my A/F ratio is because I installed a KOSO wide band sensor. What gear did they use for the reading? I have heard a lot of them use 4th gear because 5th is over drive.

I can't remember where I saw it but if I remember correctly it was 65hp.
I read a magazine camparo of the Stryker vrs the hd. The hardley was using the
bigger 103 motor. They both dynoed at 67.+hp. But the hardley made 88 ft.lbs.tq.
the Stryker made 78 ft.lbs.tq. also the hd was slightly faster 0-60. But the Stryker
caught up and beat the 103 in the 1/4 mile.

They use 4th gear for the dyno since that is the 1:1 ratio.....same with most 5 speed bikes and cars.
SDsting's bike produced 65.80 HP and 71.31 torque at the wheel bone stock. I think you have more in yours because he got 77 HP and 81.35 torque at the wheel after BAK, exhaust, and Power Commander.

That is a really nice improvement. Just a couple of horses on a bike makes a HUGE difference :) I wonder if anyone has done any reworking of the heads, port/polish or CNCing the combustion chambers with any success.

Not sure what article you read but this one said the stryker always beat the rocker c to 60.
My bike dynoed 80hp and 92 torque after light mods. Factory gutted airbox with K & N , my Megabuddys 2.0 slip on pipe that ISNT a wide open pipe. Um, Gman that we actually had to lean out a bit. I think I am around 800 feet above sea level.

Wow...was that at the crank, or at the rear wheel. If at the rear wheel, I wonder why such a huge jump over sgt's numbers?
not sure if mega is counting his NOS or not in that dyno ...
My 80hp/92tq was All motor. After repeated back to back heat soaked runs it was still pulling 78. My nitrous run was 110/132 on a 30 hit.. :thumb: I would like to see what the current 40hp shot is pulling for torque... :biggrin1:

BTW all numbers at the rear Tire. RWHP

I think Sgt's numbers are right on par... he is @5200+ feet above sea level remember?

Awesome numbers. I guess I didn't realize what 4500 feet more worth of air will do for HP :thumb:

Hmm. That 30 shot of nitrous would have me eating 1250 cc v-snods for dinner and probably the built "120" hardleys we have up here rideing around. So where can one
Get this set up?

The reason Yamaha figures come from the crank is the engineers and manufactures shops are where they do their readings. Consumer shops don't spend the money on equipment that it takes to read directly from the crank.
Dont put your bike on a Dyno unless you are going to re map it...Save your money!
