Guys I just saw in youtube rear view backup camera install in a motorcycle. Have any of your guys thought of place a rear view camera right where the licence plate goes with a little moniter in the front and you do not need the side mirrors at all..

See link.

I have to agree, I'd never get rid of my mirrors as I can not imagine the camera could capture, the sides of the bike and leave you with a huge blind spot.
I'd also not be a fan of one more gadget to distract me while riding. Although information is good, and it's nice to see who is bearing down on you as your stopped, I'd probably spend far more time looking down and watching it then safe. Just my nature.

I am however eyeballing the Reevu helmet. it has a built in rear view mirror. www.reevu.com. Plus it's actually a pretty nice looking helmet :)

I kind of liken it to those who have TV's in every visor and head rest in their car. Is it cool? Sure it is. Is it practical? Not really. It might be more feasible in practicality if it offered zero blind spot but I havent seen a camera lens greater than 180 degree FOV. Besides, how lazy are you that you cant turn your head to see whats behind/next to you! :p

If they made a brain bucket with a HUD a camera would be a little helpful like was said before you could see someone flying up on your rear, also for a gps unit intergrated into it. For those who think I'm crazy check out these snowboard goggles. They tell speed, you can download mtn maps, have upto 8 hours of memory for mapping runs, and I'll have to read again but think they will also tell you who is calling if linked by Bluetooth to your phone. The unit is small enough where I will be able to retro fit my zeal goggles. http://www.zealoptics.com/z3.html

Just my .02, I have a backup camera in my truck and got it wired so I can flip a switch while going forward as well as I pull trailers quite a bit, works great when bright and sunny but is pretty much worthless in the rain

You obviously don't wear a full face helmet. At work our motorcycle parking is a free for all and you have to squeeze between other bikes. I'm not lazy. I just don't want to damage my Stryker running into someone hog.

On the contrary. This is my helmet. Or maybe I just have a freakishly limber spine? I dunno.

I ride on base and we have to wear long sleeves which for me means a jacket with shoulder pads and an Icon reflective vest. Plus i'm not as limber as I was when I was 18.
