Bike is running extremely hot. When stopped the bike sounds like it will not decelerate. The trottle does not seem to be stuck. Also sounds like power does not cut out when the clutch is pulled in. Just had my 600 mile service. Any idea what I can check? Will most likely have to have the bike towed back to the dealer, do not want to start the bike back up.

Sounds like intake manifold leak, tps could be bad, maybe a bad fuel injector, possibly Oxygen Sensor is bad or unplugged. If she's running hot, she's probably running lean.
You really need to call ur dealer, explain to him what's up and make the appointment for them to inspect it.
To detect a manifold leak- spray carb cleaner around the seam where the mani bolts to the heads and spray where the throttle body mates to the intake. If the rpms die down when you do this, it means carb cleaner is getting to the combustiin chamber via the leak.
Visually inspect the O2 sensor to verify it's plugged in.
You could google the correct way to test the tps via a handheld voltmeter-it's just a potentiometer.
The bad injector- rig up a way to apply fuel to it to see if its stuck open under power.
Kind of vague descriptions but it may help you head in the right direction...(to the dealer, its under warranty)

Thanks for the info 8sec-z. Since you mentioned the manifold, I was thinking it may have something to do with it. I noticed that the bike was bike firing alot on the way to work this morning. I'll check it out. Dealer opens in another hour or so, going to give them a call. Changed the exhaust, put about 300 miles on it. first time i'm having an issue. Thanks again.

This is a shot in the dark, but maybe the coolant temp sensor is stuck closed or the connector was pulled off by mistake, making the bike think the coolant is always still cold. This may cause the bike to think it's running hot all the time and make the idle always stay up. This parts fiche shows number 18 being the thermosensor (basically an electric thermostat). Says it's at the front of the bike in front of the tank. My guess is that it's on the top of the radiator. Check the connector and if it's good I would get it towed back to the dealership. If it is running hot you don't want to risk permanent engine damage. Hope this helps and please post whatever you find!

Thanks "B". I turned the key to see if the engine light was one, I noticed that there is a number on the display. I am wondering if it is an error code. I guess I'll figure it out once I talk to the dealer. I'll post what I found out once I can get in touch with the dealer. Thanks for the input.

For the **** of it, I googled the error code. Looks like on a Raider it is an ESC Valve Stuck Open (Engine Speed Control)
(High Idle Speed). It could be the culprit. Bike has been sitting for almost two hours and it is still hot to the touch.

The error code was a 37. Missed it in the last post. Not going to start it up. Just going to wait for the dealer to open and see what they say. No fule processor yet. Was checking out the cobra processor and air intake. those were going to be the next mods I do.

It's most likely going to be your throttle cable is to tight try loosening the throttle cable adjustment. That is the most common for getting that type of error the cable is adjusted to tight so it can't close the valve

I found a local dealer here in city to avoid a tow fee of $360 to get it to New Jersey. The error code reset itself, I have it in for a check up anyway. I guess the roadside assistance service would have been worth it, LOL. I'll let you know if they find anything. Thanks again folks.

I wonder if your computer freaked out and went into a safe mode due to two things- your lack of a fuel processor and the high humidity due to the current heat wave.
I would never put a full exhaust on a bike without a fuel controller. No matter the air cleaner mod. Your stock ECM doesn't have the parameters to correct a full exhaust. G/L man. Update us!

Got the bike back over the weekend.....they cleared the error code, checked out the bike and took it for a test ride and find nothing else. They did tell me that during the test ride, the oil light came on. When they checked the oil I was a quart short. Not sure how that happened since I just had my 600 mile service. I guess I'll keep riding and see how it does. Next on my list of mods will be the FI2000 protuner. Thanks again for all the input.
