Sooo, yesterday my wife and I met up with DaytonaStryker. What a great guy. We rode out to the Roadside Tavern in Port Orange, FL for an event being hosted there. As we pulled in, registration for a bike show was in progress. I decided to enter Black Jesus in the show. After finishing lunch I proceeded to sit outside with my bike in view for the next 2 1/2 hours. The judges all stayed huddled under the tent the entire time. Bike judging started at 4:00. 2 of the judges walked out to a few of the bikes then went back under their tent and stayed there until time for the awards. Not once did the judges even look at any of the bikes on the side mine was parked. I overheard one entry asking a judge when they were going to look at his bike to which the judge said "Someone has already picked the winners. We're just verifying." I thought to myself, "How the heck could they have picked the winners when they haven't even looked at the bikes?" It became quickly apparent what was going on once the awards started. They took $10 from each person who entered in order to make a little cash. As each "winner" took the stage the judge would ask a question such as "Who did your pin stripping?" or "Who did your paint?" It just so happens that each of the answers given just happened to be one of the advertising sponsors of the event.
