My mods are pretty tame compared to the others. Mostly cosmetic. I would think my exhaust would be my biggest investment when I leap. Then it would probably be the Cobra Slip-On. I find the seat very comfortable so that's a no pick for me.

I've only have had my Stryker for about 2 weeks now but will be drilling the stock exhaust in the next couple weeks (after engine break-in). I will be ordering the Cobra Fi2000 PowrPro CVT next week ($500.00). Soon after that a Cobra air intake ($225.00).

I am sure a couple weeks after that I'll be looking at aftermarket exhaust systems. The sickness never ends; any toy I get seems to have this problem....

I did what I thought my bike needed in order to get the look I wanted, and like SmokenJOE, mine were also mostly cosmetic. I haven't stopped to figure up what I've spent, and don't really want to think about it lol. Probably my favorite change was the exhaust. The sound of the stock pipes made me wish I had bought something else.

Pretty much like the other smart members of this forum ;D, I have been concentrating on cosmetic change, rather then performance. Fender, spoiler, pegs etc. Not really to concern on how fast I get from point A to point B, but more so on how good I look doing it. 8) I am thinking of getting the Low and Mean seat pan and Cobra air intake pretty soon, because I like the way it looks. Won't be bothering with any fuel programmer however till I find the exhaust I want.

I think the best mod out there is the very 1st one you do... nothing like the feeling of your 1st endeavor into the unknown!!

When each mod you do ends up seeming cooler than the last one, it's hard to stop!

Getting a solo seat was pretty amazing because it really shows off the lines of this bike. For me the cheapest that had the biggest iniital wow factor was getting the L&M rear LED kit for the stock fender. It is amazing how pulling off the stock tail section improves the looks of the bike. For an additional bit of cash you can get the wraparound LEDs for the front but the improvement there is more subtle.

The seat upgrade is a bit safer as the LED mods do make the turn/brake lights a bit less noticible during the day. My wife has told me that its hard to see my turn signals so I may end up augmenting the rear plate with some additional LED strips.

Love how many of you Americans don't buy HD's ;D
Before I bought the stryker I took a serious look at HD. It boiled down to getting a larger engine, and a lot more features I wanted for less money. I also read a review that put the stryker up against the rocker c and the stryker came out ahead. Mind you I still like HD and I'm not bashing them, but they have some serious competition in the big metrics now.

So far I've only spent about $200 on my bike.
First mod: Get rid of the junk on the tail ($4 for a piece of metal to bend and drill for a side mount bracket)
Second mod: New sound ($46 for a muffler, $12 to make a custom baffle, $49 for heat wrap, $13 for VHT paint)
Third mod: Painted plastics ($7 for paint)
Mods not installed yet: Speedo face by BikerMojo ($35), Avon air cushioned grips ($41), New mirrors ($35)

Within the next year: Fixed mount back rest (for the lady), 240 tire, and scootmods 3" forward controls extensions (~$600)

For me it really came down to dropping $20K+ on a Harley or $11K on a metric and having tons of cash left to do mods. Plus, the yamaha will start pretty much every time you turn the key. My friends on Harley's don't say that is the case for their bikes.

Best mod so far is the cobra exhaust. Ceans the look of the bike and gives her a voice.
