I'm looking to install a new exhaust system but the one I want (cobra dragsters) don't come in black. Do any of you have any experience with painting exhausts? I know it can be done but how hard is it? And is it worth it to do it yourself instead of having it done by a pro. Any idea on cost for something like that?

There are a few posts where people painted some chrome stuff. All they did was use a scuff pad and used high temp paint. I'm sure other people will chime in but as far as how much powder coating would cost I have no clue.

You could probably get it powder coated for less than 100

Cheap solution is fireproof ceramic paint. Vatozone has it for under $8. Just spray and let it dry and last step is to let it cook on.

This stuff works okay, but it scuffs really easily. I have it on my exhaust and after a few rides with a passenger, the paint is scratched off in a few spots.
