Hi every one, newbie to the forum here. Just got my second bike, a 2011 Stryker. What a difference from my first one, a 1982 Virago 920. My question is, does any one agree with the factory shift points (1st gear till 13mph) or is is just me thinking that u a luggin the motor. I think the gearing is a bit "tall". Yea, I'm used to the smaller "crotch rocket" style of the 920 where drivin around the town at 20-30 mph in 2nd gear is normal. Not the case with the stryker! 1st till 30 mph feels right to me. Any tips, help or mods are greatly appreciated.

I don't agree either with those factory points, I do it mostly by feeling or I should say by the sound of the engine like in a manual transmission car. You know when the engine is accelerated enough to ask for the next shift or to downshift when it starts to rattle.

Screw the factory shift points, once you get some after market pipes shift by sound and feel. This is still the best way to shift, unless you just really suck at driving a manual, and if that is the case they make some awesome scooters ;D

LOL too funny, I did not even know there was factory recommended shift points. I'm usually doing it by sound and feel. Guess I better read that Manual
