Just thought I'd share...

This summer I replaced the stock 210 tire with a 250 Dunlop.

Plus, I remove the stock rear lights and blinkers, and added a LED brake light and blinker set from Chrome Glow.

I also added 2 white LED's in the lower two license plate holes. In hindsight, I should have gotten 2 red LED's and hooked them into the brake lights. May still do that... moving the 2 whites to the top and adding 2 reds to the bottom.

But, for now, I wanted to make sure I had a plate light.

And you'll notice I added a swing arm bag. I fabricated a plate for added sturdiness.

It's a 17" Clear Rifle Windshield.

I was able to use my OEM brackets. I like it a lot better than the boulevard I originally had on there. It's a little wider and keeps the same angle as the forks. Got a number of compliments on it since adding it.

Here's the front. And if I remember right the front extends down further than the OEM ones.

Here's the one I ordered. Smoked Colored
They stick to the fender. I cut into the stock wire harness. Just follow the directions that come with the lights. It takes a while too... two guys and at least a 3 beer minimum.

You'll need to pull the seat, fender, and left side cover. I soldered all connections and get some good shrink tube to hold everything together... It'll help keep things dry.

Here's the ones I used for the bottom of the plate. You may want to consider whites on top of your plate and reds on the bottom, then hooking the reds into you brake lights. Think about it before you wire it all together.

Sorry for hijacking your tire/light thread but I really like that windshield.
Compared to the stock height that you looked over, are you now looking thru this one?
And how tall are you?
I prefer looking over the shield but the stock one I have is too low.
I'd like to have a bit more protection from bees and other flying projectiles.
Thanks.

Michael... I'm told the brake lights are bright, but because the blinkers warp around the fender a little they're a little tougher to see. But at night they're fine.

I went with the 14" strip. So if the blinkers are a concern, you could go with the shorter strip which would put the brake and blinker facing the back. And I think they're a little cheaper.

When I use my blinker and turn my head when changing lanes etc. Haven't had any problems yet. Hope that helps.

Adrenaline... Im 6'2" and I look over the 17" shield. Rifle make several different heights, plus they make custom heights if you need it.

That looks so good! I am going to go ahead and order one. Just to make sure, when you said that you got the 14" did you mean the 14.7"? Also do I have to purchase anything else besides the running light circuit and the adhesion promoter pad? I know that I have the option of getting a resistor to slow the blinker rate. Thanks!

Sorry for bumping this thread but this is EXACTLY what I want!
