Hello! I my name is Thomas, I'm from Portugal. I just recently bought a Yamaha Stryker and I'm having problems with popping (like extreme) after any desacceleration which I like but in a short ride. I did 600km with that noise, my head was exploding soo I start searching with a solution a I saw a youTube video talking about the Fi2000 and seem resolve the problems of several riders. So I speak with my mechanic and he installed. Yesterday morning I did the first driving with the mod and I was super happy no "bad" noise in my ears the bike feeling good in all gears (low and high rpm) but then In the afternoon I had to make a stop to put gas e then the bike start to feel "bad" again, ****y noise.
In the morning I start searching other settings for the controller to see if the problem can be solve with this one or if I need to adquired the new one (PowrPro)
I have a cobra full exhaust system and a K&N air filter.

If anyone can give some hint I will be immensely grateful.

Good rides 😎✌

I personally wouldn't wast my time or money with either of those fuel controllers! i would get the ecu tuned by Ivan instead, i know he has a guy that does his tune overseas and maybe some of the older guys here can point you in the right direction for who he is. but here's ivan's website so you can go read for yourself.

Hi, I have too the Fi2000 with cobra filter:

With a DIY muffler, the same problem, but changing for a GPR ghibli reduced the popping fully, in my case..

The FI2000 can be adjust at revs range manually, was the first model, in the last is not necessary I think

And in Yamaha, the stryker too, you can adjust the idle by a right button secuency.., this is good for an open exhaust..

If your mechanically and electrically inclined check out this thread Yamaha CO Mode it is what quite a few of us have done. Even with Ivan’s flash I still have this adjusted. Remember it only affects the first 1/8” of throttle accel and decel, the decel popping is fuel cut off as another has said and only way to disable that is through someone who can tune the ECU.

thank you guys! appreciate! now i'm between re-flashing the ecu or install a power commander... but i just saw on a video that every time you change the exhaust you have to re-flash it, but on the other hand, with a power commander you just have to "install" another map. Is it right?

So here's my 2 cents on it, pretty much every aftermarket exhaust is going to flow roughly the same amount of air. with the only differences being a 2 to 1 or 2 to 2 or 2 to 2 with a power port all that will really change is the scavenging effect from these different exhaust. Ivan has tried many of the exhaust for these bikes and im sure he flashes accordingly to where there all pretty much the same. Like i said this is my opinion! but i will say this that a power commander needs to be put on a dyno to get the tune rite unless you are running the exact same set up as somebody else and theres was dyno tuned then you could copy there map! but here is the real big difference with Ivan's flash vs the power commander, the power commander can not fix the inherent problems in the hard tune of the ecu but Ivan has gone threw all of that and set parameters to where its best all the way around........... etc cooling fan comes on sooner, higher rev limit, timing advances and so one and so forth. So for me it was a no brainer to get the flash.

I agree with Rad. I read a lot of posts and asked a lot of questions before deciding which way to go and the vast majority recommended the flash over a power commander. I’m currently running a Cobra powerflo intake, ECU flash and Cobra swept exhaust. I wasn’t sure what type of exhaust I wanted when I was ready to get my ECU flashed, and I’m certainly no mechanic, but it was my understanding from speaking with Ivan that the flash has more to do with air intake vs the exhaust which is why he recommended getting my ECU flashed the same time I got my intake and I could add the exhaust later on. So I got the ECU flashed, reinstalled it, put on the Cobra intake and immediately noticed several improvements as Rad pointed out. A year later I put on the Cobra swepts and now it runs and sounds awesome and I haven’t had a need to reflash the ECU. Again, I’m no mechanic but I’m guessing that the only time I would need to reflash my ECU is if I put on a different intake, took the baffles out of the swepts or threw curb burners on it. That said, if I were to do any of those things it wouldn’t be until after I called Ivan to confirm…
