While my 2007 Roadliner S is on consignment at riders hill I just picked up my new 2013 all black Stryker and rode it home in the pouring rain! I only got just 100 miles on it so far because its still raining out side, GRRR!. Why did I go with the Stryker and selling my Roadliner S ? Well im 5'6" and it just fits me better than the Raider or Liner. Ive owned just about all the Star bikes, a 650,1100,2 Roadys, Warrior,Liner. I wanted a lighter v-twinn cruiser to handle the mountian roads up here in the GA mtns where I live. I also don't go on the long over night trips any more and won't need the big corbin beetle bags I had on my Liner. As far as being a canyon tight turn racer, well lets just say I have my modded 2012 Camaro SS convertable for that,LOL. I just wanted to post this opinion write up because Im going from 1900CC to 1304cc and biger is not always better!! I test rode the Raider back to back and the Stryker for ME was better. Now I want to point out that sadley the Strykers engine is no way as beautiful looking as the 98,102,113 air cooled engines are in MHOP. Also the Stryker feels cheap next to them and Yamaha uses alot of plastic covers. No big deal, plastic doesent weight much and it don't rust,LOL. But it is a cheaper bike? But I still love the looks and handleing of the Stryker. The Stryker reminds me alot of my old 2002 Warrior when I installed the drag bars on it. Very similar fit and handleing feel on both bikes. Now with some negitive opinions on my new Stryker, while no bike is perfect, let me list the positive side of my Stryker vrs my Liner.

#1- Stryker is a very nimble handler even though it has a 210 rear tire
#2- Strykers speedo is high up and easier to see at a glance
#3- Stryker fits MY rideing position and style way better
#4- Strykers engine is butter smooth and very quick and responsive
#5- Stryker is WAY easier to do any type of maintaince on it
#6- Strykers 80 cu. in. motor with mods has a better power to weight ratio

Well Ive only had the bike for three days so there may be more to come. But I loved all my Star-vtwinns ive owned . Ill keep in touch. Yamahas rock!

P.S. I do notice the lag and on off abrupt throttle responce and that dreaded surging at low speeds. I guess once the intake and pipe are changed ill be needing some sort of fuel device that WORKS. I had the cobra pro tuner on my Liner and can't say I noticed any difference and my Liner still poped and back fired when it wanted too.

Congrats on the new ride. I am similar in stature at 5'7" and find the Stryker fits me like it was built for me. Many happy miles ahead!
