Hi all I have the stock exhaust baffles removed on my Stryker and I loved the way it sounded. Just yesterday I decided to remove the cat thinking it would have a little more of a crackle sound sort of like a Harley..I knew with no baffles and no cat it was gonna lose low end torque but decided to run it like that anyways. Definitely not a good idea it didn't sound good at all and popped wayyyyy to loud on deceleration..So today I made a lollipop baffle which is basically what a BCT monster baffle is..it definitely deepened the sound back up and stopped the popping..basically what I'm getting at is that if you already have the baffles removed I wouldn't advise removing the cat as well..it really doesn't make much difference in the sound at that point, in fact it doesn't sound as good now in my opinion. :-\

Please post your air/fuel setup. Are you running the stock air filter and not using a fuel programmer?

Stupid question but don't you lose so much back pressure that it can harm your engine?
Loss of backpressure in general will never hurt your engine. The increased exhaust flow WILL pull more air in causing a leaner mixture, even with stock air intake setup, which will cause a loss of low to mid range torque for sure. To offset that you have to install a fuel programmer to bring mixture back to optimum levels. The stock exhaust is more than long enough to keep you from damaging the exhaust valves. Removing the cat entirely will not produce a pleasing sound in my opinion. If you leave it in and just "gut it" (pain in the arse BTW) then it serves as an expansion chamber. The exhaust pulses mix in that chamber with the backflow exhaust and cause a nice mellow rumble. The key to removing your baffles is to disturb the inner plate that the baffle is welded to as little as possible. That plate serves as a torque cone, reducing the diameter and increasing flow (velocity) while maintaining just enough backpressure to be a fairly well tuned exhaust. I am running stock exhaust, gutted cat, no baffles, Cobra autotuner, cobra intake, and the bike sounds great, deep rumble, no popping or backfiring, pulls harder at any rpm than a stock bike and HP is plenty for the bike. Now after saying all that, I do think the best exhaust note is obtained with Vance & Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 with monster baffles but my setup is so close it isn't worth the extra 600 bucks.

I cut my welds holding the chrome tip off and pulled the whole thing out the fiberglass layer around it the very back plate and front plate all one piece expiremented a lot with trying to get the first plate a the way out could not be done once I got the cap off I realized that that first cap is made on but I think that black plate would have made a different sound if I could have left it in there for the better pretty much straight pipes now o and took the cap to an exhaust guy he stretched it which was nerve racking afraid it would rip then welded it back on repainted all of it even chrome tips flat black and baffles removed like I said though defiantly on the loud side.
