Someone on another forum said his forks broke with normal riding conditions by just applying the brakes. 09 Raider with only 8,000 miles on it. Anyone ever heard of such a thing?

You are not supposed to put your front brakes on while coming down off a Wheelie. Break the forks every time!! LOL

He appears to be doing ok - he should pursue a full blown investigation - consensus of opinion right now is 1.) maybe he's not telling the whole story or 2.) the forks had been damaged by the previous owner and instead of replacing the forks straightened them
Luckily there was not more damage done to the bike.

I find it almost impossible to believe that you could use your front brakes and your forks just buckle.

That was definately the final link in some sort of previuos problem working it's way to this final result.

This topic has become a major discussion on the Raider forum with a lot of speculation on how and what happened....the bike is going to Tejas Motorsports Brent along with his guys and Yamaha rep will inspect the bike and should have an update later next week...
