So I did the search about forward extensions, found the topic and within the first page or two it turned into a discussion about brake lines. So here I am revisiting the topic. My questions are: I have the yamaha engine guards and I'm looking at getting the extension kit, has anyone had any experience with using the kit along with the engine guards? Are there any fitment issues or modifications needed? Also if you have input on which kit to use would be greatly appreciated.

I have the PCS, some guys on here have gone with Scootmods and some with Lightning, I think they are all relatively the same, just research and see which is for you. My PCS works fine for me but I know some guys didn't like the original kit. From what I gather Scootmods may be the easiest to install.

I did the Scootmods kit. The only problem I had is that they left out the brake linkage extension and I did not notice until I had already started installation. I made my own brake linkage extension using a coupling nut and some all-thread and it worked OK and then I contacted Joseph at scootmods and let him know, he immediately sent me the linkage extension (rod extender on brake master cylinder). I received it in two days and replaced the one I made up with his (his is better and easier to adjust).

As far as it not working with engine guards, I would need to know which type you have. I could probably tell you whether it would work or not.

Just know that it moves the pegs and controls forward 4" and out 3/4".

So if I measure 3-4 inches + travel I should get my answer. I contacted scoot and they said they haven't tested it themselves. So more then likely I will have some guards up forsale...lol
