Does anyone know if Yamaha has a color match touch up kit available for the frame color on these bikes?
Apparently this dumb aZZ didn't realize the tank was as difficult to remove and tried to work with it still attached causing some minor but troublesome scratches on the frame below the seat. I've polished out as much as I could, but it's just one of those things that bugs me enough to keep trying to fix it.

Found an old discussion about this...

"VHT makes an engine enamel color called Pearl Black which is an exact match to the Yami OEM swingarm/engine case. The color with the metallic/pearl in it and the matt finish is exact!!!! Plus it's high-temp!!

You can find it in AutoZone. But, it's VHT, so it should be able to be ordered online or at any store that normally carries any of the VHT line.

It is in a large spray can... so for touch-ups or spot fixes you can spray a little in a plastic cup, or the cap of the can, and use a brush to apply!!!

The frame is the same color as the swingarm.... Right???"
VHT BLACK PEARL is a perfect match

Thanks, appreciate the help. Now I just need to move south of the border! LOL

If you decide to head to Anacortes for the Oyster Run, let me know and I'll buy you a drink.

You don't have VHT paint up there in the great white North?
How about Jegs? catalog (for you, catalogue) sales.
Yamaha color
I'm sure we do. That link mentions Canadian Tire in the thread, so I know we have it. Just living on an island here and sometimes it seems harder to find things. I just have to get out and look. The frame was messed up last night due to my own negligence. I've polished it out the best I could but would like to get some paint into the deeper scratches to try and fill them so I can buff them out smoother.
Felt pen only works to take away the sheen......

I do not agree that VHT's Black Pearl is a match... nope.. do not agree at all.

I tried it - to my eye's at least they do not even come close.

colorrite may be a bit more expensive.. but you get what you pay for.
Thanks
I don't see that they list the frame color in there (not using the drop down searches they provide). Unless I missed it somehow.
I'm willing to try the other paint and see how it looks. It's more to fill in a few of the deeper scratches and then I can at least polish it out.
I could take it in to a paint shop and see if they can mix something for me as well.

If you prep the parts right and spray evenly and mist it on they match.
If you pour it on it will gloss and look horrible.
I painted my license bracket with it and it's a great match.

you have to drink a few beers , close one eye and look at it again! That's how my daddy told me to look at it.
