Did a free 2" forward extensions w/ engine Guard mod today. Just used front mount hole for rear of floorboard bracket and drilled a new hole for front bolt into engine guard. Drilled 2" ahead and 1/4" up to angle my floorboards to a better angle. Then just moved all brake lines and wiring forward and tiewrapped, and installed 2-3/8" extension onto shift rod.

Wow! Excellent! Now do mine so I can put the engine guards back on lol.
All was pretty easy except routing brake lines to make that 2" stretch. Before the scootmods model, others were using another brand extension kit and getting there lines to stretch the 3", but I don't understand how. 2" was the max on mine.

Thanks Shimbo- hows the sale going? I know that if that bike sat out front of my business with a for sale sign- It would not take a week to sell. Do you have it setting out where traffic can see it?

The scoot mods extends the brackets forward leaving the brake in the initial location and uses longer rods. I will have to get with you so you can look it over and maybe get that extra inch. You have a great idea though to integrate the engine guards with the forward controls so that people can use both and not have to hang the engine guards off the end of the forward control brackets. You did exactly what I pictured doing!
Here's where we get the extra length from: make yourself a small plate for the brake cylinder.

So....did you just move the front part of assemble leaving the cycl. in original position?
Shift side same thing?
What size is the tread for brake cycl. and did you use a coupling and threaded rod to extend it?
Got a picture from the top on both sides?

INQUIRING MINDS (or at least mine) WANT TO KNOW.

Good job there 11. I love ingenuity. AND saving money. :)

The 2 inches extra I have now is great, and is as far as I can go with engine guards. I rode 195 miles this morning and what a difference. Also tilting the boards back a bit is maybe the best part of it..

awesome. But looks like you got a little heavy on the painting there.
"I never promised you a Rose Garden" Toby. LOL doubt anybody will be looking that closely at bottom of floorboards anyway. HEHEHEHE

Hey Smoken- I just took both sides and moved complete assy ahead minus the engine guard and bolted through back hole of assy's into front hole of engine guard & frame. Then tipped floorboards up to my liking and then marked and drilled hole from front hole of assy's into the engine guard and bolted together. The shift rod I just cut in half and threaded the rod 7mm 1.0 pitch and installed lock nuts. I then took a valve guide for a 53 Series Detroit engine and tapped the ends same 7mm 1.0 pitch and threaded rods into guide and tightened lock nuts and sprayed some chrome paint on Heavily(just for you Toby-LOL).

Sort of an older post, but I was thinking about doing the same. How tall are you 11? I'm 5'8" and I'm not sure if 2" would be too much without floor boards (I like the look of pegs). I just bought a intake from SS Black Iron cross, and I'm about to pull the trigger on the engine guards too. The only other question I have, if I drop the bike, would the guards just pinch in and ruin the chin scoop, or are they sturdy enough to handle it?

I'm 6' 1" and I don't have my legs stretched out all the way even with the floorboards. I would think you would be fine with the 2" forward setting. And you will have no problems with the engine guards pinching in if you lay it over. I forgot to put kickstand down once and bike just rested on the guard w/nothing hurt.
